I don't think a lot of ppl know about the wiki. Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, there's no link to the wiki. Ended up searching for wiki lol.
Is it just me, or does Luka sound kind of similar to Miku.
In a way, all vocaloids sound similar because they are vocaloids. But if you listen to it while trying to filter out the robotic sound, it is clearly different.
IMHO Miku is different from the other vocaloids in that she doesn't have a robotic sound to her. and I too felt that Luka is Miku just a little higher. You can notice it especially when she stresses a note (see 3:13-3:17), and suddenly you hear Miku singing for awhile.
The robotic sound of the Vocaloids is dependent entirely on the skill of the user and their proficiency with the program.
The very reason for the existence of Haku Yowane stems from Vocaloid 2 users who could not get Miku to sound natural. Most of the songs by the Vocaloid 1 series sound robotic... but there are a rare few Mieko songs where she sounds quite natural. Clearly the result of the few who put in tremendous effort into making her sound that way.
About 2 days after Luka came out, YouTube had a Luka rendition of Amazing Grace.. while she sounded better than any Miku rendition (which is natural because Miku could only render Japanese phonetics, where Luka renders in English) of the same song I have heard... she was still robotic. Several renditions later and about a week ago, someone pulled off a more or less natural Amazing Grace.
I consider it quite a feat and testament to the increasing skill of the users.
