The detailed creation of Hatsune Miku astride her radio controlled Segway chariot is lovingly documented in this interesting new video. A template is included.
A pity that due to weight concerns the Segway couldn’t be made to accommodate a Nendoroid or Figma, instead requiring a slightly odd looking papercraft Miku, but the end result is still most impressive.
Before the inevitable questions start – the catchy BGM during the 2nd half is the R.O.D. OVA OP by Taku Iwasaki.
So you want to make a papercraft Miku of your own? Find the templates here (mirrored here).
me been doing papercraft assembling for almost two years actually,it’s a lot of fun(try printing on a photopaper to add extra gloss) and much easier to build than assembling Gundams.
Fabulous! Now we can skip a whole section of highway (and all of its pesky treasures) on our way to Proto Dome!
Type 90 battle tank would be awesome name for a segway.
Man, I might make a 2.0 version of this after I’m done with my finals. With actual self-balancing and stuff.
If you do, film it and we can cover it here!
“They see me roll on~ my segway~
I know in my heart they think I’m nice & purdy~”
