Strike Witches Second Series Announcement Announced?

Following the pompous tradition of a certain notorious anime producer, the official Strike Witches site carries an announcement of, and a countdown to, a weighty announcement, due on the 27th.
Speculation as to what it might be instantly centred on the much anticipated new season, thought to be an absolute certainty given the runaway success of the series, and the dire straits of Gonzo.
Of course, fans are reminded of the recent debacle surrounding Haruhi’s mythical second season; Gonzo’s only record with Strike Witches has been to deliver on its promises of loli and pantsu, and fans thanked them for it by opening their wallets en masse…
Regarding other possible announcements, few spring to mind unless we credit Gonzo with the same kind of superb marketing acumen as Kadokawa; it seems unlikely they would dare to follow in their footsteps even if they were inclined to announce a rerun or whatever else, considering the lingering aftermath of those efforts…
Perhaps a Blu-ray release could be the spoiler, though the timing seems unlikely.

Well, Kadokawa is big enough to afford trolling the fans and withstand the barrage of their abuse, Gonzo, in their current situation, cannot.
So this announcement is probably something solid like a second series or a new game.

If anything, most of the staff have somewhat /vaguely/ hinted at a second season soon after the first one ended.
They've been stating on their respective blogs about how they weren't able to put this or that into the series, or how they wanted to try something out but never got the chance to. Otherwise, they've all expressed great sadness in the series being over. xD
If this is some half-assed promotion for their SW games, I'll be damned :/

I liked Strike Witches; however, I'm a bit hesitant that the crippled Gonzo will be able to match the production values of the first season. What I don't want to see happen is what happened to Minamike.
Also, not exactly thrilled with how Gonzo has done with 2nd seasons. If I see a hint of a bear or a bat a la R+V, then I'm gone.
PROTIP: A bad second season does not ruin a good first.

i was going to type a batshit insane fanboy post about how strike witches kickas ass, and needs moar charlotte oppai and moar loli pantsu, and then someone reminded me of how gonzo handled rosario no vampire2, and my enthusiasm died completely.
so i'm on the fence now, like the other guy said, any hint of extreme censorship, and i'm done supporting this company.
