Negima Ala Alba OAD 2nd Season Due

The earlier speculation by fans concerning a new Negima! series turned out to be slightly off, as the series will not be on TV, but rather 2nd season continuation to the popular Ala Alba OVA series.
The official announcement is on the Ala Alba official website, the key points are translated below:
In answer to the expectations of fans of Negima who want to see more of the anime, a 2nd season of the OAD has been announced!
The 2nd season of the OAD will include 4 episodes. The series will begin after Summer 2009 and will be published sequentially (with tankoubon releases). As with the 1st season, it will go on sale along with first-time limited edition tankoubon.
As for a major point of concern, the series will continue right after the end of Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba! In other words, right into “Mahou Sekai-hen” (Magic World Chapter)!
This will be an invitation to battles, sexiness and a new Negima world!
The production will once again be handled by Shaft, and the series will retain the same director and character designer as the first season.
Ken Akamatsu will be continuing his work as general producer of the series, something that must be excellent news for Negima fans.

Yay, tis good news indeed. I read about this last night and apparently a movie is in consideration, once again providing sales are good enough. Ala Alba sales met the requirement before so its probably gonna happen this time around as well, hope so anyway.

It'll most likely to have a OAD 3rd season as I'm also currently running through the manga, somewhere around chapter 240 now.....
Probably they just do so to keep the franchise alive.
Still watching the first season, its interesting so far..

Seriously the girls are 15 to begin with. They are probably currently 16 in the series. Negi (the male teacher) is supposed to be 10 (their is debate that he was 9 originally with how he worded everything) but by now he is 11 (probably 12 if you count all the days he spent with Eva in the time resort)
4 Episodes is not enough to cover the magic world arc, hopefully they won't try to cover it fully with these four either.

I'm happy with the decision since were getting the Magic World Arc animated. However, I do feel it is near impossible to get the entire Magic World Arc done in any less than 6-7 eps that includes if you cut the filler chapters out and skip the minor parts.
