The MegaHobby 2009 figure event, organized by MegaHouse, was held earlier today in Akihabara and showcased a variety of figures coming up for release in the months to come.
Here is a small gallery of some of the more appealing or interesting photos of the event that have made their way online in what must be considered breakneck speed, even for the likes of Akiba-oriented websites…
This is the Ranka Lee bikini malfunction figure announced some months ago.
It seems this will be the final color for her hair, slightly toned down from the original prototype’s blondness but still not green, presumably because this is advertised as the “Nose Art” version of Ranka.
I might’ve preferred a greener hue, but it still looks like an excellent figure. It is scheduled for April, and pre-orders have become available.
The Yoko figure from Alter, scheduled for a June release.
The details on this look great.
Another appealing figure of Yoko, this time as Yomako from Alter, due for release sometime later this month.
Alter didn’t disappoint with with its booth’s display, including several high quality figures such as this coy-looking Yuki Nagato .
Alter and Nagato seem to be good partners, as shown in the past. This Nagato should be out in March – pre-orders are available.
The sexy Menas of Queen’s Blade, scheduled for an April release from MegaHouse.
Pre-orders seem to been filled to capacity at most online stores for some perplexing reason…
MegaHouse’s Annelotte Queens Blade figure, due out soon.
Another Queens Blade figure, this sexy Reina is available now.
A display focusing on the Macross F “Fortune” chibi figures. Note the kabuki-costumed Alto in center bottom…
More of the Macross Fortune figures lined up and looking adorable.
Stuffed Ranka dolls from MegaHouse.
The MegaHouse Klan figure, besides a still unpainted prototype Sheryl figure.
It shows promise, but I usually refrain from inspecting an unpainted prototype too closely.
Gurren Lagann Nia chibi, from Sol International.
Yoko chibi.
Both of the above are adorable.
These is MegaHouse’s lineup of Idol Master figures, so far numbering 5. Miki’s is due out in April.
Awakened Miki still has no release date announced.
Yayoi‘s figure is already out.
Another very cute / sexy figure from Alter, the Louise Seifuku Ver.
It should be available in March.
A Tachikoma in all its glossy splendor, from MegaHouse.
The Eye Up company’s booth.
Eye Up’s unpainted prototype of a Birdy figure.
Limited edition version of MegaHouse’s Sakura Nanako from upcoming eroge Sakura Sakura.
See many more photos of the event at online retailer Hobby Stock’s Reports page, and Akiba Hobby.
=0 I want to see that Birdy figure painted! =0
Birdy Decode is one series I’d totally buy figures for instantly. I’d do the same for new Slayers or Disgaea 3 figures, but they don’t seem to be particularly forthcoming.
yuki looks too tall ._.
That Yoko has the best expression. ^_^
Nice photos, Quen. Especially the tachikoma with all the shine and detail.
This is what you’ve been up to aside from UNICEF’s misdeeds?
No. ^^
The Tachikoma is indeed sexy…
A note on the last picture in the set; that’s actually the standard version of Sakura Nanako, with the red trim and opaque leotard. The “Platonic Side” limited version has blue trim and the leotard’s a bit translucent.
This really makes me want to get one. Too bad I don’t have the money to buy them….. =(
