Actually it's real. If you look closely, you can see that he's got two belts connected to him in the beginning of the video. Then, at about frame 612, you can see that the board just snaps in half when the weight comes down. He won't have his legs plunging through his body. ;-) At the same moment you can hear a sound in the background which is obviously some kind of cables being wound up. These cables are what pull that guy up. It's actually the same technique used in movies for when people stand in front ot a train and get "run over". They just get pulled away very quickly.
pry sure a harry potter stunt double was paralyzed doing some stunt with those cables that pull them back really quickly
