Surprisingly, current yokozuna Asashoryu appears to be an Xbox 360 fan. Some might suggest it is a console befitting his scale and girth.
The writer of the article muses over how tiny the TV is in comparison to the wrestler, and more significantly in comparison to his 200 million yen annual salary, as well as his using cheap composite interconnects, and wonders whether his interest lies in the game Blue Dragon.
He’s not the only wrestler with such proclivities: there was also the case of the erogaming sumo wrestler…
For those of you who are unfamiliar with sumo, yokozuna is the highest rank a wrestler can achieve in his division (either west or east).
Asashoryu, a sumo hailing from Mongolia, is famous in the sumo world for garnering an outstanding number of victories.
He was subject to some controversy in the past however, due to feigning injury to participate in a soccer tournament back home. His less conventional personality has also caused some problems, but his nationality has not.

He reminds me of Takamura from Hajime no Ippo in that position.
does he play Idolm@ster 360?
In the first picture… are those bolts coming out of his arm?
WTF
I believe those are acupuncture needles. They’re supposed to relieve stress.
Oh you found the secret out. Hes actually a robot….Made by Sony, who likes microsoft crap. go figure.
Zooming in makes it look even more curious >.<.
Explain to me why the Xbox 360 is facing away against him towards the storage containers? He also has a PSP as seen by the charger in front of the TV.
Being a 360 owner myself, I can see the logic.
I imagine that room must be fairly small and get quite hit. Considering the 360’s well known failure due to overheating, I can only assume he’s switched it that way so the air vents at the back have proper circulation rather than being right up against a wall. ^_^
Doesn’t make much sense to me though considering he has the AC adapter sitting ontop of the console as well, or do the x360 adapters not get as hot as pretty much all the other adapters I have ever bothered checking?
Lie down I mean.
Or he just put away the Xbox 360 hurriedly because he wanted to lay the futon and like down.
The brick doesn’t particularly get hot. It gets warm. What you want is to not block off any ventilation holes, which are on the back and side (opposite of the hdd).
It’s a shame he got suspended that one time. I could have seen him participate when I watched the matches in Fukuoka.
I dunno how anyone could go back to composite after using something better. I’m especially spoiled nowadays by HDMI since everything goes through just one plug.
