I only wished that there was an mp3 download to the violin version and the night of violins MAD...Truly spectacular!!
just DL the video and rip the audio off of it.
Lol, after getting carried away I just found out the mp3 download...Ugh, careless me...Thanks to iapfah nonetheless :D
Where??
Damn, the guy is just awesome. The electric violin does look as cool as the guy playing it, and the music (even in it wasn't perfect) was just something else..... Need to find out who this guy is!!!!
It's a very good effort, too bad the sound emulation software isn't up to snuff.
Just stunning! This blew my mind!
nah, TheScreamer > ALL

WHAT IS THIS MAN HIDING? Secrets to even more meltdowns we can only hope.
As sensors keep rolling out in their varied forms and under the power of varied service providers and system owners, there's this ominous sense that someday soon, we may never be able to go offline again. ,

Got bored so I blended the violin and Meltdown songs together. If someone can give me a place to upload it I'll do so.
There were some places in the songs I couldn't match up exactly cos of variation but it worked ok.
Man, I really want that mask. O_O
This guy needs a moefication.
I wish I could download these songs
You can download the original from http://aimini.net/view/?fid=N1kDr2DweJ2jw3TkQLi0
lol its awesome if u play it both at the same time lol
wonder if theres a way to get an mp3 of that violin bit
download audacity and set it from 'Microphone' to 'Stereo Mix'
It will record anything that comes in through the computer sound. then just export as MP3 and its iPod compatible.
That gave me the idea to use something like stereo removal FFT algorithms to try and get ONLY the violin, and remix it by turning it into a violin+cello duo!!!
I'M SO GOONA DO IT YAY!
I don't know whats more awesome, the play or that mask :p
Both are awesome, no need to go the length to discuss just how awesome they are.
I think I just came.
Thrice.
Gotta love this kinda stuff.
On a similar note i think
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTcCHjCmbe8
should be 'introduced'. This is probably one of the best versions I've come across.
The posters other videos have some awesome stuff by someone calling himself 'The screamer', check it out if you like this kinda stuff.. i strongly recommend it!
wow~ it sounds somelodious on the violin.. (not sure if thats the right word to use....) <3 song but a great cover!
Awesome
so very awesome *__*
Truly awesome
Awesome just doesn't cut it... that was bloody amazing ^_^
Damn right awesome doesn't cut it! Incredible! After all. Violins are king!
That was too good for words to put it in. Speechless i am. i so wanna download it. o wait i can.
Man I love the original. That is some amazing violin playing. Don't you hate when that green bar starts to slow down and you just know it's going to buffer.
What type of violin is that? Is it like a electronic-violin type? Or a real violin?
Electric. Real violin needs an actual body, not just a skeleton.
Yeah it is a (wireless) electric violin. You can tell by it not having a chamber for resonance, and the guy wearing headphones.
The violin tune was pretty nice, other than a few notes which went a key(or keys) too high...
I still can't bring myself to like Rin or Ren songs though... Sounds as wierd as it did on day 1 till now...
Huh, am I the only one underwhelmed by the violin playing? Overall, he got most of the notes okay (with a few painful exceptions), but the playing itself was terribly dead. There was no sense of musical flow or phrasing, and the electric violin didn't help matters any. And while I'm piling it on, he has some weird fingering choices, which didn't help the intonation. For a lot of the high notes, he covered up some of the iffy intonation with slides.
If hiding imperfections with slides was good enough for Harpo Marx, then it's good enough for me!
I don't have "golden ears and eagle eyes" like you. And yes the high notes kinda off, but don't you think you're underestimate his violin skill?
I don't know how good you are (since you refused Artefact's request) but he play that violin and record it, it's worth to watch and hear.
You said he's doing fo him own sake, fun, happyly or whatever. While music for everyone are kind of music which are meet your standard, BUT if that so, IT MEAN you're forgetting the essense of ART isn't?
His video make people happy, I feel sorry if you got better ability than him and make you jugde him that low. But for me and other who love his play, his video is awesome.
Maybe you should considering to write more open minded comment in the next post, I mean, you should take alook for every possible point of view, not only your view. Try to look from people who didnt have talent to play violin, try to look from people who didnt care what kind of "perfect" play but care to good music.
Again, I realy-realy want to see you playing the same music like him, to compare and tell everyone the different. By saying you didn't play anymore is not an excuse for you. Play the same music like him, record it, and post it. PLEASE.
Nice Going, Anonymous.
I am not astonished by his playing... though I have to say, he plays pretty well. It might be his violin, but the sound of his playing is very vibrant and is very solid and clear.
As for the musical flow and phrasing, it is present, just very subtle... could improve, but only matters if you are playing to an academy of educated musicians or something = ="...
Fingerings, there are two main reasons I can think of why he is using what he is...
1) It is easier (being easy or not really depends on the player... the size of each player's hands is one factor, the just personal preference is also another).
2) To keep the same quality of sound. Since you played violin before, you must know. Playing on an A string is different from playing on the E string. The A string is more mellow while the E string is very sharp and bright. If you want to play a "phrase" or a line of melody, it is best to stay on one string to maintain that quality of sound... makes it sound both more natural and smooth.
I do have to agree on one thing though; his intonations aren't perfect. Though not to the point of it hurting the ears... well, maybe with the exception of F# @ 2:43... but hey, it's not 100% guarantee that you can shift from II position all the way to VI position every time... but his trying to correct it midnote really hurts the ears. The other really obvious one was the G# @ 1:17 and the C# right after that @ 1:20, where he tried shifting from III position to VII position and then jumping to the C#... and a few notes immediately following that. But hey, the guy is playing at such high positions; you have to give him kudos for that. You know how it's like up there; if your finger is off by like half a centimetre or less, your a semitone off ><"... maybe that's the reason why he has so many slides... plus, it's easier to slide to a position than lifting your fingers up and then coming down again... more accurate.
As for sliding... either
... either he is trying to get to the high positions better, or he's trying to add that "exotic" kinda feeling to it... idk, I don't think "exotic" quite describes it... but you know what I mean...
Overall though, this piece is quite hard in terms of all that shifting and stuff... have to give him credits. Love his double stops though... very solid and even.
Maybe he as a reason for the fingering choices?
It's like asking why people play lefty on a guitar.
Also, even if he aint the best out there, I still find his skill truly astonishing! I, atleast, am impressed.
Could you video yourself (in a nice mask) doing a similar performance; I'll be delighted to post it and we can all enjoy.
Sorry, stopped playing violin years ago. Now all I can do is be a grouchy old man. Don't get me wrong, people making music is great, especially if it makes themselves happy. I honestly believe the kid is doing it for his own fun, and that's all the justification he needs. That being said, having listened to it once, I have no desire to keep a recording of it as good violin music.
You could be right about everything you said, I'm not sure.
But I found it impressive that he's playing the vocal line with the violin. Granted he's not singing with it, but that's most definitely the vocal line from the original song that he's playing isn't it?
Can you really make all those criticisms for that? The voice can do many things, which I imagine are quite hard to replicate or make sound nice on an instrument.
But whatever right, I enjoy it, you don't.
Also, Fuck off.
I agrree with the last anonymous ^_^
Also, he is most likely listening to the actual song and playing the notes on the violin all by ear and makeing his own choice on what notes to substitute with the vocal.
His fingering choices are also probably what he feels comfortable with.
You always learn something and adapt it to best suit you, that is what makes us individual.
Sigh... And there's always someone who thinks otherwise...
ohhh
this guy again?? xD
its great!
Rhythm feels similiar as TAMUSIC?
