Final Fantasy XIII Demo Dated

The Final Fantasy XIII demo will go on sale soon, accompanied by an added extra in the form of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete (the CG movie adapted to Blu-ray), or a 160GB PS3 to play it on.
The demo can had accompanied by the PS3 (and movie) at ¥50,000 or the limited edition movie at ¥6,000; the normal movie is available separately for ¥5,000.
These packages will all go on sale on the 16th of April, according to official sources. It’s not clear whether a more general distribution of the demo is planned.
No firm date is yet given for the release of the game proper either, but a Japanese PS3 release in 2009 is apparently on the cards (the rest, including the humiliating Xbox 360 release, are set for 2010).

All the non-Japanese releases are apparently being started after the Japanese release, so they will all likely fall into 2010 - or at least that is what's being said.

Well considering Gran Turismo 5: Prologue was sold as a full game (despite it being just a demo to the full game) its not really that surprising that its just too damn freaking expensive.....

Why not? It's not like it's impossible to make images of BluRay discs... but then again, I've never seen one. Maybe the size scares people off... but actually that shouldn't be an issue in Japan where everyone and his/her grandmother have a GBit connection. But what do I know.

Nobody's hacked the PS3 yet, and it doesn't look like they'll manage it now unless Sony let them. Blu-ray ISOs are not at issue.

After the let down that was FF12, I'm not all that interested in this but none the less, I'll probably pick up the 360 version next year unless its released among more interesting games.
I did read somewhere that they won't release the demo outside the limited dvd and consequently the ps3 package. Too bad.
About the release date, all what we know is that it will be released by december in Japan. Amazon (US) got it in presale for 01/12, though they got too Versus XIII (13/12) which got no release date yet afaik. So not too much credibility there.

Only until the 8 cores CPU can we even fathom to emulate it and that hasn't comeout to the mainstream, well massively. But by the time some actually program a emulator probably a "YEAR AFTER" xbox 360 release it's kinda of pointless. I heard 16 cores will be out 2011-2012 though on PC Magazine.
Just wondering how many disc will it be on a xbox 360 maybe the downtime will be due to that.
Well theoretically you can augment any existing PC with a cell processor or something equivalent to significantly boost the emulation performance on emulators with this in mind. But such a card would probably cost you nearly as much as actually buying a PS3.
However, I'm not 100% sure about the nature of the IBM Cell, but if it's anything like the processor arrays they have for mobile devices (small scale) or super computers (large scale) then it should be possible.
