Haruhi-chan Anime Not Even Started Yet

It seems the only major confirmed Haruhi title, “Haruhi-chan”, has not even fully begun production, leading many to doubt whether a 2009 release is likely.
The news comes by way of a radio interview with the staff (Lantis) of Ga-rei Zero (at about 40:00): “We’re still not started on Haruhi-chan”.
Much fuss has been made over the supposed announcement of the full second series of the main title, but this latest news, although from a separate production company, hardly suggests the Haruhi marketers take the business of actually releasing the anime they announce seriously…
That said, a 2009 release should still be possible, but the earliness of the announcement if a later 2009 release is planned is rather questionable. Evidently, it is felt that it is best to keep fans in a state of permanent suspense.
Given the very low credibility now attached to Haruhi-related marketing announcements, fans are left doubting that the 2nd season will be delivered at all…
Updated information from their latest announcments seems to suggest that Lantis here must have been referring only to their responsiblities (apparently only the score). Not exactly reassuring all the same, but the series is at least now dated.

Huh, I never knew there was a 'haruhi chan' anime planned... oh well, no loss for me I guess.
Eh, I do think there's a second season coming eventually, who knows when, but it'll see the light of the day :p.
Yeah, this is the first time I've heard of this Haruhi-chan anime too.
It really is bad that the 2nd season is so long coming, but it will be worth it for Kyoto animation to be able to do it. A sooner rush job might have been given to a lesser company and made a mess out of it.
I kind of hope the 2nd season will be loner than the initial 14 eps. a full 26 eps would be great.
As for this Haruhi-chan anime. It might have been a good idea to get it out to fill the gap until the 2nd season of the full Haruhi could air, but now it doesn't seem like it will.
I'm crossing most of my body appendages that the Newtype announcement will be for a spring Haruhi broadcast.
There was talk of a Haruhi-chan and a Churuya anime based off the respective 4 koma for each of them since last fall. At least 4-5 months... These in addition to the 2nd season they keep promising.
i have a feeling we should just give up and not care anymore =_=
waaay ahead of you.
When you're not hoping for something, you won't be disappointed not to get it
and if eventually you get it, it will be a surprise 4 you and make you happy :p
truly something zetsubou sensei would say
indeed
I read the first Tankoubon of Haruhi Chan and I liked the manga more than the original Haruhi Suzumiya xD
I hope for a Anime of this tittle :3
Yeap with Nagato as an erogamer XD
And Haruhi as Konata lol

huh what
Oh sorry, I'm more interested in listening to Yomi's voice for an hour.
I am still predicting (hoping) they have suspended all current Haruhi products for a Kyonko series. :|
if they did i would love them to death!
What the F*cking hell! They did it again T_T.
And nothing of value was lost
Maybe the studio hasn't made enough money merchandising the first series. Ya think?
That's it, I give up! I'm better off buying the original books than waiting for the second season.
HARUHI IS SO KAWAII
LOL,I dun even care anymore, I love the series but there are many other anime out there to be worried about whether there's going to be a second season or not, I'm pretty sure there is going to be one and all the fuss people are making is going to make them wanna troll you even more.
At this point, you'd have to be an idiot to have any expectations for anything involving Haruhi, since it always involves blue-balling you. I'm going on apathy mode until something is actually released, dates and planning can eat a dick.
Is AIC Spirits or asread going to produce this series instead of Kyoto Animation? As you said the staff of Ga-Rei zero were the ones to announce the delays in production, so I was wondering if any of those studios is going to produce... Because the first announcement said that it was Kyoani.
I've been hoping for this for ages, even if they don't make it until 2012 I'll be happy as long as they actually make it
lolwut
Did we haruhi-fans just get trolled XD
Haruhi 2 will become as mystal as Full Metal Panic 4.
We'll probably get a Little Busters anime before we get Haruhi 2.
Hey thats actually not bad ^^
I'm actually looking forward to Little Busters! anime. Screw Haruhi
Nice. It's something I'd look into.
Question though; what ever did happen to the light novel series?...
...and then there was rioting in the streets
The yelling and gnashing of teeth of Haruhi fans puts a smile to my face.
There is a word for this kind of marketing.
It's called "fan disservice".
WHAT?
@@#$%!@$% I was so very waiting for Haruhi-chan... and Churuya-san too.
But to tell the truth, I want more a proper translation of the manga than the anime itself...
Anyone, please?
Haruhi is manipulating you.
For someone who had been disappointed countless times over a possible third season of Full Metal Panic, it doesn't matter to me anymore. Key-oto Animation will probably just pick up another visual novel (like Little Busters) instead of finishing off the franchises that it ought to have done. Just watched the first ep of Munto and find it to be crap by the way.
Gah! WTF i thought people already understood this situation..here's a tip "put your doubts in place" do that and your lives will be spared by things such as this..
I believe it's time for some RAGEEE!!@#!@#!@!!
=]
Well, I'll just watch other anime while waiting (waiting? Waiting for what?)
And what's with the Youtube tag?
http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/08/23/haruhi-chan-anime-due/
The anime will be aired on YouTube.
They are actually waiting for "someone" on 2ch in a [particular] thread to seriously start the project. Well that's they really want though.
are they imitating cartman's style of business?
But when can I order my bunny headphones? When?!
Rest assured that those are cute enough that we'll see them, sooner or later...
No, really, where's the Ga-Rei Zero link to Haruhi-chan? I can't find a source that claims anything other than Kyoto Animation being behind it, and they have now announced its 'airing' date in mid-February.
I'd rather you didn't insert troll news randomly, and if you genuinely thought this was actual news then you should be doing more research than this. Get back to posting irrelevant funny pictures as news if that's as much effort as you're willing to put into it.
You sources aren't worth much then.
The link to the official radio interview is in the post [http://lantis-net.com/ga-rei/004h.asx ].
The series certainly is credited to Kyoto Animation, though Lantis is also involved. They are listed as being in charge of musical direction on the official page [http://www.haruhi.tv/]; so even if they were referring only to music, their statement is rather odd...
Good, now I can go back to being indignant and not caring so much.
