The making of an ita-keyboard, featuring the girls of Idol Master, is shown in this video. A rather unusual choice of itafication indeed…
The project took the maker 10 hours, and cost a rather modest ¥2,380.

Nico.
It looks as though the lack of characters on the keys is deliberate, as they can be added easily enough during the design process. The software used in the video is said to be Typing Mania 5.
You may have noticed that this is by the same person responsible for the Zero no Tsukaima ita-PC making-of video.
A similar effort is the Idol Master XXXbox…

FUCK YEAH!
Very impressive. I can't say I was ever really into customizing my PC like this though.
This seems really tedious.....
next up is the ita-speaker
What's most impressive is the effort, and that labor is what stops more people from trying this. That's over a hundred keys! Nevertheless I'm still encouraged to try this.
I can attest for the i-Rocks KR-6110 keyboard he used. It is a very moddable keyboard, the same model I use.
i want this i just need to know the materials that the maker used for the pictures
Nice but I prefer my figures. Keyboards get dirty from all that typing...
nice, he is using an Antec P150 PC case, which is all white. i should know cuz i used to own one but never looked that good = )
I have the Antec Solo, pretty much P150 but with new better HDD air-hanging straps and black case with silver front. Really love it tbh, just the perfect size and with a Scythe Kama on the front it looks so stylish while still being discreet.
It was a serious PITA to fit all the hardware in it though, since even though I have a powerful computer I wanted to cool it passive as much as possible. Not to mention all the HDD's for my terrabytes anime...
Awww~ I'd love to do this but my Kanji isn't that great, so can anyone help translate?
the only problem is reading the keys XD
it doesn't seems to be a probleme to him
It would be nice if somebody translated the instructions and put it on the wiki.
This is a good idea - if anyone does I'll update the article (at least).
I feel I must apologise for not providing a translation, but I can't really help it...
that would be awesome!
There's a typing game for Idolm@ster? I only know Typenist, for Miku. http://kanmisikou.net/typenist/
This is something I'd really like to do sometime considering most standard American keyboards don't convert to dvorak worth a damn. Sure the keymap is easy enough, but try to swap the individual keys around on the board and it just doesn't work, the keys are so wrong. It would also help restore some of the worn down keyboards we got too, whom their only problem is the paint on the keys has faded away. 20/10 find Artefact.
anyone know what game hes playing?
I believe it's Typing Mania 5 Odyssey 5. As you can see it is written at the bottom.
Sorry, just Typing Mania 5 Odyssey.

need a list of materials
This is kinda creative creating these kind if keyboard. I never seem one of these before.
Gah, the case I can understand. No way I'd do the keyboard. That looks excruciating. And I'm not that patient.
God damnit... I wanna do this but i dont have any of the things that will let me make it D:
Wanna see a laptop done next!
What would we do about back light keyboards if we so choose to use them?
Still a great idea that I will be trying out.
kawe tok pahe gapo, ejas subtitle wes.
Video not found =3=
Video isn't working :(
Please be slightly patient when this happens - they were only down for under five minutes...
wow...this guy is so awesome. I wonder if he'll go into a customizing PCs for customers? I'd bet he'd make a ton.
I would pay for it.
I was laughing when the guy has an idea of putting a mirror and Idol Master girl on the PC case, so he can see his own reflection with the girl.
Brilliant!
So has anyone tried this yet? I was tracing the outline of my keyboard in illustrator and it worked horribly.
It's not the cost that concerns me, but the incredable amount of effort and skill that's involved that prevents me from trying this.
Although, I must admit, that keyboard's REALLY appealing and temporarily overloaded my anti-fap resevoirs.
Kudos for using the long version of "Go My Way" in the vid.
What's amazing is how he actually managed to get everything measured exactly right. I obsess over these things, but I probably couldn't pull that off.
Six hours seems like a fast time.
I did this with my PSP, this article just gave me more ideas on where to do this ^_^
the cutting part IS a tedious task. Unless of course you have a computer-guided laser cutting machine that uses illustrator or some other vector software to cut ^_^
here's a pic of my psp and my ipod shuffle that was ita-skinned

So awesome! Care to explain how it was made?
How do you make the template if you dont have a copy machine
anyone know how he makes that template thingy after he sanned the keyboard?
i got my keyboard To-love Ru for 2980,then i got another K-ON for bout the same price
shit snaps, i only did my pc...
How does it take 20 some dollars? I only saw him print out normal sheets of paper and laminate.
