This visually impressive Idol Master MAD has an interesting distinction aside from its obvious quality…
Player 1
Nico.
The song is by P-Model, and rather astonishingly it was released in 1992… Saying it seems to have aged rather well would be a serious understatement indeed.
Also quite reminscent of Harder, Faster, Better, Stronger Idols…

omg i love this song <3
I love this song and I love P-Model. You can see Hirasawa's face and animation from the original video in the upper left corner at about 00:40
The idols were born 2D on the drawing board, so they are 2D.
Pretty weird/funny song XD Im gonna get alot of weird looks listening to this at Full volume on the bus, not that i dont get those while i listen to all my anime ops anyway ways T__T
geeeh love the show! I do appreciate cell shading since they maintain the quality of the 2D part.
I'm more partial to the Daft Punk MAD, myself. However, correct me if I'm wrong, I do believe I heard a sample from Galaga used in the song. I have to give props if I did.
this is 2.5D!
lol! That's SFIV. But I guess that's what they call 3D cell shaded.
Ah.. P-Model, I first discovered their talents behind the music from detonator orgun. boy i loved that anime.
But the band themselves do some bizarre music.
I like it.
:)
P-Model has been making electronic music since the 70's. They are true pioneers.
They are powered by the godly talents of Susumu Hirasawa (he's the guy singing in this song), who has done many anime soundtracks.
He's also the favourite of Kentaro Miura as I recall...
Pretty impressive.
Wow... I noticed Susumu Hirasawa did the music for Parpika, and I can totally taste it in this song as well, despite being made more than 20 years apart. Great stuff!
