If Kyoto Animation were to take up any new season of Toradora, might not this version of Taiga be the result, with the idiosyncratic character designs of Clannad being employed? So speculates 2ch.
We might wonder at what effect this would have on sales…
As someone else mentioned, KyoAni's signature is their tendency to stay true to the roots of a series they handle. (I'm sure some might say they stick TOO closely at times...Lack of variation and all that from the original material to make it stan apart.)
I doubt they do something like this. Just because they're practically the exclusive studio used by Key (well, them and Toei, who take a more liberal approach) for anime adaptations doesn't mean that's ALL they're capable of. I'd say the design would be reflective of what a ToraDora Visual Novel adaptation handled by Key would be like.
Again, as mentioned, look at Haruhi, Lucky Star, FMP, and the various Key series. They're all not the same in style. (Well, the Key stuff, sure, but even they have mildly subtle differences.)
"If Kyoto Animation were to take up any new season of Toradora, might not this version of Taiga be the result, with the idiosyncratic character designs of Clannad being employed?"
The answer is obviously a big fat YES because as we all know, Kyoto Animation studio only does Key adaptations... oh wait..
"So speculates 2ch."
They're even more dumber than I had thought. I mean, FMP's character designs TOTALLY looked the same as character designs for Air, am i rite?
KyoAni wouldn't do a mediocre job like this haha, if they had Toradora they'd probably ramp up the animation quality and keep the character designs closer to the manga. Well not that it isn't good enough already. They don't just stick to 1 style, if you look at Haruhi, Clannad, and Kanon there are slight diffrences to match the original designs. Also there's the 2nd Raid and Lucky Star.
Well to tell you the truth this shop isn't too bad.
I'd say it has more to do with how Key can only do one style...KyoAni's just being tagged as guilty by association.
Actually, I'm now curious as to how many people know about Key and it's association with KyoAni...Key's property got quite more popular after their KyoAni anime renditions were made, but it's starting to look like a lot of people are crediting KyoAni as the creators of KANON, AIR, and CLANNAD rather than just being a means to an end (anime adaptors).
The thing about that is, Kyoani actually tends to do a pretty good job of remaining overall faithful to the original designs.
Specifically, look at the eyes of Haruhi, Konata, and Kyou, and then look at the original characters from their respective novel/manga/novel. I'm not all that familiar with the series, but I know that normally Taiga's irises are full ovals.

My personal favorite Holo cosplay.
Makes more sense to me anyway since Spice & Wolf doesn't take place in Japan, but rather a fantasy European-style world.... More

This looks more like if Key did a visual novel of Toradora, and then Kyoani did an anime of that visual novel.
hahhahahhahah please god no.. no more failures like minami-ke season2
Wait! There was a season 2??? I thought season 2 was airing now...

DO NOT WANT.
Fuck kyoani, haven't you trolled us enough!?!?

The point I think was that Kyoani can usually only draw one type of face.

I'd fuck it, especially if it had angel wings (fetish, fetish)
That's just bad
Reminds me of someone I know.

Nah, Kyoani would'nt do something like that. 2ch are a bunch of desperate otaku's just trying to find something to be mad about(Lawl Nagi)
Oh U 2ch anons...
looking for something to rage about XD
Am I cute? Uggu~?
Hopefully Kyoto won't do a version like this but instead keep it closer to the first season.
Sales would plummet.
Sales? Who would buy it >__>
hahaha
I can't even imagine Ruiji with those eyes. I wonder how they would design him
I don't know about you guys but I like it.
Please no, god
I'm going to be a rebel and say that I like it.
The eyes are too far away from each other D:.
