Fans Despair of Minami-ke Okaeri: Comparison

I loved season 1 + 2, but season 3 could become another ZnT 2.

Season 2 was perfectly fine, except for Emo Boy.

In this anime dark-haired girl looks like a dog O_o and... is this a sequel of Minamike 2nd? How strange, starting from "2nd", well, whatever...

And also, why is it being compared to Minamike?

The teardrop mouth thing just doesn't work with season three design. And while I love that they kept Chiaki a blonde, it just looks like a retread of season two, with a feeble attempt at season ones design charms.

But really, who gives a shit about the art direction, what made the first season so good wasn't the art, it was the story and script. As long as they don't fuck that up like season two with the Linkin Park Kid side story, it'll be fine.

dont know why everyone is bashing on the 2nd and 3rd seasons character designs. As long as that slice-of-life touch is in this series, its always got time for me.

I did like the animation of the second season...
The third is worse than that of the second, but i have still not decided wether its worse than that of the first.

These guys are excellent at destroying a perfectly enjoyable series.

I don't know about you guys but I am loving the third season. I agree that the second season sucked but you gotta give them a chance.

third season shows what a studio can do when they have proper supervision by the author.

1) ep is now structured to contain manga neta.
2) chara design is actually comparable to manga, more so than domu's version despite domu's version being more cute.
3) op rips off 1st season's op
4) bgm ripped off from 1st season.
5) no random ass pussy boy coming in out of nowhere then leaving in the same fashion.

Also, Haruka in the third season actually shows other emotion besides the selfless kind self that is pretty much dominant (or more like all the time) in the second season. I actually seen Haruka show some anger and disappointment towards Kana.

Animation and image wise, I think it got worse. The second season looks way too like the stereotypical drama-anime. However, the style of the art is more like the first season (without the subtile shading and whatnot).

But most importantly, the third season is actually funny again or it is bringing back the funny that is LACKING in the second. The second played VERY MUCH like a typical story driven anime... It lost its comical timing and breaks of the first.

Hosaka got nerfd!! The quality dropped a lot but..I'm still going to watch it, for the sake of Hosaka

To be honest, i just finished Okawari, and didn't even notice that noclip bug. I actually liked them both, don't even know if second one is any worse or any better then the first one. But i do know, that i can't freakin' wait for the 3rd season!

I feel like I'm looking at different images to everyone else. S3 looks just as good as S1.

It kinda looks like they added a touch of Code Geass to it.

It could be worse though. They could have changed the voice actors and EVERYONE hates that.

I'd like to know why they would change animation...

Well, the third season is a bit... "manga-looking", with the facial design and all.

I think it's a bit better than the second season.

The only thing I see bad in season 2 was too much character detail. And extras have black faces; creepy!

There was a second season and it sucked.

Why the hell didn't they just stick with the first studio? Didn't they learn their lesson after season 2? Now they're making an even more craptacular season 3. I actually like this series, but god damn who the hell keeps picking out the shitty animation studios.

Just as there is no Tsukihime anime there is only one season of Minami-ke

Season 1 was Great
Season 2 was Great
Season 3 will probably be just as Great, but the animation does seem to be the weakest of the 3. Look at them in their side views. They look so very flat and awkward.

Quality is pathethic, but at least you won't feel like throwing up from fucked up colors :)

Never really noticed a big change in animation between the first two seasons and enjoyed them both. But now it's noticeable..

Im one of those that didn't mind the second seasons change in art, I liked both seasons honestly, they both managed to entertain me and make me laugh, so its all good =p

By each version they just keep getting weirder and weirder...

Oh come on. Minami-ke is in no way some heavenly masterpiece that should not be touched. The first series was slow and hit-and-miss with a pretty bland style. And while the second series had a shitty story about some annoying neighbor kid, and some bad art choices (ie black faces), it had an appropriate directorial style for a comedy show.

I, for one, look forward to seeing more antics of ten year-old transvestites.
