Sankaku Complex has reached its latest milestone of 10 million page views, not so very long after we surpassed 5 million, and of course the site itself only started in April.
I should take this opportunity to express gratitude to all those who have contributed to this success, whether readers, commenters, contributors, or those kind enough to link here.
Sankaku Complex now gets in the region of 150,000 page views daily (on the main site alone), with more than 20,000 daily unique users, a figure which continues to increase at a gratifyingly rapid pace. The wretchedly inaccurate statistics at Alexa indicate we are in the top 10,000 sites on the Interwebs, for whatever that’s worth.
Within a week or two there will be more than 2,000 articles here, and in a few days there will be over 20,000 comments (currently we receive 300-400 comments daily), which I hope attests to how seriously the community aspects of the site are taken.
Sankaku Channel also continues to enjoy very healthy increases in usage, with some 100,000 page views daily, and approximately 4,000 daily unique users; the selection of images is also rapidly increasing in size, something we will hopefully be able to accelerate dramatically soon.
Should you be able to contribute, tag or improve the information on images there, I know all the existing users will join me in bidding you a warm welcome.
Two new features loom large: a forum and a wiki.
The forum should go live in a few days, and will offer a place to discuss such matters as you deem fit, as well as offering progressive integration with the main site as we go along.
Naturally, there will be image and file handling capabilities available should the Channel not be an appropriate venue for these. A further announcement will follow with regards to this.
The Sankaku Complex Wiki is already live, though is of course still sparse. You can help change this, but I will certainly be working on several key articles as well; if you have something in mind, or have questions about this, you are welcome to get in contact.
The wiki itself is using the same fully featured framework which powers the likes of Wikipedia, so it’s sure to prove adequate for our needs.
Articles which reach comprehensive condition will be announced on the main site, so you are sure to hear more on this front.
A special mention should go to new contributor Quen, who you may have noticed joins me in providing coverage.
I am delighted to have him on board, and I have no doubt you too appreciate the additional breadth and depth of coverage having multiple contributors allows, especially at the very high standards of quality we endeavour to maintain at all times. Hopefully, additional contributors will soon follow…
For those of you who operate your own sites, I should once again take the opportunity to extend an invitation to join our feed exchange program, the details of which are laid out here.
Some of the participating sites have been very successful indeed in promoting themselves using this method, so if you have not already done so, please do give it some consideration.
Once again, thank you all, and should you have any problems with, or questions about the site or similar, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
congrats o/
Congratulations on the 10.000.000 hit! I only got to know about Sankaku Complex through a link from Anonymous on desuchan, last month. After that, I tried to keep up with your posts, but you guys post too fast, and I left it for sometime when I would have several hours to spent on the site, so I’ve spent this past days reading every post since November 19th, because I’ve been sick on bed. Even though my throat hurt when I laughed, Artefact, Quen and, a lot of the users’ comments made me laugh really hard. Of course, there are some posts that aren’t meant for fun because of what they are covering, which shows how Artefact and Quen can go from a sarcastic, downright funny or, even a “PANTSU!” approach on one post to something quite more serious on the next one. I hope to be able to keep up with your articles on the following months and that everything works just like both of you want.
if tl;dr: Congratulations and continue your good
I meant “good work.”
