Hobby Complex 06 Tokyo

The latest Hobby Complex was recently held at the Tokyo Big Sight, and the Internet has since seen a deluge of of photos taken of the countless PVC figures and garage kits displayed.
Shown here is a collection of the most appealing and/or interesting photos I’ve yet seen online.
For those unfamiliar with ホビコン / Hobi-kon, it is an event where figure makers, both large and small, showcase their goods. As photography is given free reign, it serves as a huge advertising venue for the businesses involved.
Many of the displays shown are from large companies that produce PVC figures, such as Good Smile Company, Alter, Kotobukiya and the like, but this event also includes the tiny producers of garage kit resin figures, which are produced in infinitesimally smaller numbers than their PVC counterparts. This product discrepancy goes a long way in explaining why there are such large differences in quality of the figures shown.
Hobi-kon (Hobby Complex) is normally on a smaller scale than Wonfes (the premiere event for figures), but due to the cancellation of this year’s Wonfes due to a previous incident it takes on a bit more importance than usual as it is steps up as the largest figure event for the end of the year.
Despite that, there wasn’t a tremendous amount of new figures shown, much of it being previously released or announced, but it is still worth a look for fellow figure enthusiasts…
