there are like 10 manga volumes in Japan for every comic book issue in the US. mistakes are far more common in animanga than anywhere else.

Makes me think more than twice if I really want to see the first Kanon anime...
I just checked that scene. In the TOEI Kanon ep 2, 07:01, that scene is just fine. The mouths are lower than the eyes. This might be the DVD version though.
Although TOEI character designs for the Kanon characters are a bit weird to begin with... they aren't *that* weird.
It might be a fake as someone said earlier.
I've seen that shop before. It was made specifically to ridicule the character designs through exaggeration. Yes, it's a caricature. The original design looks... just fine according to the fans, but maybe not so according to some others.
One mouth of the background chars shows that this is obviously shopped, the left side is still on its original place.
That must be a ghost loli inside that mirror in that Nanoha pic...
What's wrong with the sixth one with all the lunches? I know there's problem with the legs of the central one.
The middle bottom one, well, some people are on diets.

The Marisa and Reimu five hand is absolutely intentional based on those Japanese ghost photos.

Τoei Animation's Kanon was remarkable for its awful drawing to begin with, so this screenshot doesn't makes any difference for me. XD

Those Japs are great at calculus... yet they can't stick to the rule that THUMBS AND BIG TOES ARE ALWAYS ON THE INSIDE.
Pot, meet kettle. Pick up a serving tray or something and look at your thumbs.
What's wrong with 11?
Look at how she's sitting in the window well. She doesn't quite seem to fit right, does she? :) Her right hand is also backwards. With her palm down, her thumb should be away from the body. Also her other hand doesn't quite look right (although it's at least on right :)), and her undercarriage doesn't seem to be at the right angle compared to her upper body and waist.
For all of us budding artists, a small tip I've learned: After you draw your skeleton sketches and after you've drawn the actual body, look at your picture through the back of the sheet or in a mirror. You'll be shocked to see how many perspective failures you'll spot right away.
Some jerk will actually go as far as saying "none of these are mistakes, it's style!"
After all, we're speaking of a "style" known for the gigantic heads with eyes the size of fists.
Backward hand or feet? Broken joints? Mangled proportions and additional fingers? People get what they deserve.

Then again, maybe not. 2006 kanon had a few problems. Of course Toei in particular is going to have botched 2002 to shit. They fuck up everything.
