Hyakko Game Rips Off Anime

Nondescript anime Hyakko has experienced a modicum of success, which means the inevitable knock off PS2 adventure game is due.
But this time, it is no ordinary knock off, for it seems their laziness in developing the game has reached unprecedented heights, even for typically wretched anime adventure games – as the above shots indicate, they have actually filched scenes from the anime rather than go to the trouble of reenvisaging them in CG.
The game is due out in February, so it seems unlikely these are mere conceptual shots. But as the good source comments, it is equally hard to believe these are shots from an actual game.

Woah. The laziness. Move characters around on background in same scenario. Slap on game UI. *poof* A game. How lazy can the developers get? =.=||
Much, much lazier, they could stop making games PERIOD D: *shudders in fear at the thought*
developers have been getting very lazy at making games nowadays. look at the psp. hardly any good games are coming out (for america that is). also look at the naruto shippuuden ex3 game for the wii, so much laziness there.
anyways, the girl on the top right of the pics look hot ^^
only psp game im lookin forward too is that final fantasy dissidia game that i not even sure will reach the U.S. :(
Reminds me what Gainax did with some Mahoromatic game a while back. They just used colorized copies of the animator reference drawings.
Interesting factoid: In the 90s, Gainax's big money maker (besides Eva, of course) were H-games. This was mostly before the huge wave started in 1999 by Key of the current style of visual-novel, so among the games produced were ones like the legendary Eva Strip Poker game. It's been a pipe dream of mine to have that game someday...
Interesting Hyakko shots, I thought at first those were fan-art parodies. ^^ I have to wonder what the rest of the game would like if it's done in the same cut+paste style. It could actually ensure some amount of quality if they continue this for the entire game. I find the TV anime character designs to be mostly attractive, especially Inori in moe mode.
I don't care as long as there is Torako fanservice.
and how much are the developers are getting payed for this?
Hell, I stopped caring for Hyakko long ago. But it is sad to see game developers being this lazy, is it expensive to hire some graphics designer?
This gives me the reason not to watch this anime... >_>
Looking at the girls design are too similar to game street fighter girl, a naruto ninja girl, azumanga girl dyed hair and a soul eater girl.
So it's not just the game that is ripped off. But the designs as well.
Lol really? They all look anime-ish because theyre all based off or are anime.
is it really ripping something off when it's your own material anyway?
Still dont know whats the fun about klicking trough 100,000 "pages" of text. Even old textadventures got more to do.
But this of cause is another level of cheapness. They think they can make money out of shit (the game o/c, not the anime) and sadly enough there will be ppl paying for something like this...
I think thats what you call a visual novel.
