A just released eroge, 戦極姫 / Sengoku Hime, is attracting much attention, almost all of it scathing, for the incredibly dire quality of its art and production values, far lower even than most doujin games.
Many are wondering just what the developers are thinking marketing this at nearly ¥10,000 alongside premium titles.

It seems as though several different styles of art, all inept, have been sloppily piled together…
It looks as if it has some simplistic strategy parts aping the likes of Sengoku Ransu or even Nobunaga no Yabou. Gameplay and features throughout are said to be as bad as the art suggests.
Their official samples try to avoid the worst of it, but even there they fail:
Unusable? Though probably someone is going to say they think it’s great…

In case you were wondering, the name is a pun on goku meaning both “extreme” and “country” based on different characters with identical readings – you will of course recall the Sengoku Jidai, Japan’s major civil war period. A pun on the same level as the game, we might think.

It ever amazes me, why do the japanese folks *keep* on tolerating that censorship. Change or remove that bloody, ancient #175 for crying out loud… *sigh*
This game looks like it has over a dozen artists doing character art.
the game is particular hard to complete, different characters different storyline, example yishohiro’s storyine needs u to conquer whole of japan, not jus defeating nobunaga only, u had to fight all the way till u defeat masamune which her area is at sedan and most north of the map(which she will automaticly conquer by herself while u yourself starts at the most south) while kenshin’s storyline jus require you to conquer half of japan after defeating a certain clan, there is also a freemode where u can chose watever warlord your choice but no eroge sence included and the conditions are also different, i chose masamune and i jus hav to conquer nearly quater of the map
artwork wise it is not that good, especialy the PSP versions where they hav different artworks even though the same pose and many sence are missing
