Having just begun to air, ケメコデラックス! / Kemeko Deluxe: The Unknown Girlfriend, based on a popular manga, is an anime which is hard to describe, but to put it inelegantly, it is an ecchi school romance comedy SF betrothal battle anime.
At its heart, I would say it is a surreal comedy in the vein of Hare+Guu, with all the additional elements piled on top. It is as hard to evaluate as it is to describe…
There is plenty of jolly pantsu and bouncing oppai service throughout, though as yet nothing too stimulating. Ecchi humour is also present in abundance.
I was actually on the verge of reading the manga until I heard it was being adapted, at which point I waited. It remains to be seen whether switching back to the manga will be necessary or not…
Seiyuu work is hard to evaluate, as the anime bounces between action scenes which barely give time for delivery, and the pace is generally fast. Not a bad thing by any means, assuming what keeps coming is nay good…
Animation is average, and the CG used is fairly cheap looking. Personally, I do not like the character designs overmuch (they look much like cheapened versions of Keroro Gunsou characters), but I think it is probably something which can be acclimatised to. I think the music is generally awful, but this is a matter of taste.
The anime has an interesting premise, plenty of amusing moments and reasonable ecchiness. However, it also has a derivative style which seems to be in many ways a simple reworking of Keroro Gunsou, a variety of equally derivative story components (useless protagonist dragged into mysterious betrothal in a school setting), and production values which seem only average.
That said, the derivative story elements can be forgiven in the case of a parody, so I would like to see how this turns out. My own opinion would be that it could go either way, but I’d be happy to watch more to find out.
If this sort of title appeals, it should be worth trying out, though it seems unlikely to be considered an A-rank title, when all is said and done. With surreal ecchi comedy not being thick on the ground right now, fans of such will definitely want to have a look.

I like the character design, emuemu is very cute.
The music is excellent, very catchy, normally I fast forward during the op but this time I played it through several times.
ep1 had a gag a second, amazing. Of course they couldn't keep it up and ep2 is a lot slower.
Definitely the best show of this season!

I miss these kinds of articles. Sankaku lacks the personal touch these days. Though I can understand why Artefact has gotten increasingly less personal in his writing with this kind of anon scum coming to the site in hordes.

The manga character design that the anime comes from looks like a derivative of Keroro Gunso (maybe the artist used to work for Mine Yoshizaki's studio?). Volume 1 has been scanslated, if anyone's interested. The manga's recently jumped off the sinking ship of Dengeki Gao to Dengeki Daioh where it's now getting the usual Kadokawa hype push.
BTW, the robot suit's ugliness seems to be a running joke, as no one but the main character Sanpeita seems to notice it (or even that it IS a robot suit and not a real girl)...
The robot suit fat girl thing looks like: Hair from Ranka Lee, Face from Guu (with eye dilated), and Suit from Asuka Langley Soryu. It's so ugly looking that i was like wtf was that when i first saw it.
I liked Kugimiya Rie role and voice here :3
Episode one was effing hilarious. The animation of Kemeko was beyond funny. Whether the story can sustain itself remains to be seen, but episode one was classic. ToLoveRu with the humor of Sumomo mo Momo mo and Potemayo. Chiwa was great, even if she didn't bring back her wonderful Hazuki/Becky voice.
One word... "Weird"
But nevertheless I'll watch it and see how it progress.
