Geass Syndrom

A flurry of videos commemorating the conclusion of Code Geass R2 have appeared on Nico, and amongst their number I couldn’t help but notice a Minagiru MAD, feeaturing Lelouch and company in the usual strange dance, a fitting complement to the recent Touhou version, and of course the original Tsukasa version

  • i would rally love to say he’s alive…and believe me
i went rushing just to check forums after i saw the episode, i wanna believe. but believe or not, i like him as i like my steak….very very dead. 😀

      • He’s still alive.
Some are believing he’s that cart driver.

“Alright, it seems that the last episode was pretty complex and out of most of the people I’ve talked to, a lot of people don’t seems to get it. I’m going to tie up all the lose ends with this post.

The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.

However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle’s Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle’s Code (inactivated) and C.C’s contracted Geass.

When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch’s memories when she touched her, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.

Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn’t obtain C.C.’s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.

Basically, Lelouch is the person driving the cart in the last scene. He, who is now immortal, travels the brand new world he has created together with the also immortal C.C. C.C. talks to Lelouch in the end by saying: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch?”

Now comes the second big misconception. A lot of people say C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that’s not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the “hearts” of others. That’s how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch’s Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there. Also, the fact that the cart driver is masking his features completely supports this fact, considering the fact that Lelouch is now considered dead.”

        • fail troll asied. the whole analsis in my opinion is correct althou i do recall a officeal anoucment some where stating that lalu is dead wether this is true or not i do not know but i do prefer a world where lalu lives also to add to the the second season was called R2 L in japanies translates to R if i rember correctly so Lalu Lamperd becomes R R hense a similer name to CC aka RR tital R2. this is the only thing i can think of adding to the alredy good explination given

        • I think whatmakes lelouch didnt stay with nunnaly is because if lelouch stays with nunnaly as the zero, even if lelouch didnt say the Zero beside him was Lelouch to nunnaly, his identity will be revealed in a while, because the one knows lelouch the most is nunnaly.

and the main idea of Zero Requiem(correct me if I’m wrong) is to have all the hate feeling in the world to one person that is lelouch, and kill lelouch in public so every one knows that the evil lord Lelouch is died in front of them and there’s no others. because like Kallen said, it’s easier to remember a name of a person than a system. so I think its safer for nunnaly to stay away from him, its different from before when he think the safest place is beside him.

Lelouch really is a kind person despite all of his act, I really like this type of guy that takes all of the blame to himself and says nothing.

I dont really get the idea of this CODE GEASS thing at first, but after read ImperialX writing, I think I get the main idea and the glimpse of lelouch as the driver is awaken in my head. I’ll watch Code Geass R2 again after this.

and one last thing, after reading all of this, I think of Code Geass anime become more and more interesting than before. This anime really is the best.

        • Wow, that’s some awesome analysis from ImperialX. Well, I too feel that the cart driver was Ruru, but I think there won’t be a season 03, or at least I’m really satisfied with the current ending.

Didn’t really think too much about when Ruru got his pops’ Code, was it transfered to Ruru’s palm as well, the sign thing?

        • On top of the title “Code Geass” making sense if Lelouch had received Charles’s code and survived, the “R2” of the second season also finally makes sense, in the tradition of C.C. and V.V.’s names (spoken C2 and V2).

I fully believed Lelouch died after watching the last episode. But now, after checking back and seeing posts like ImperialX’s, I can’t help but believe he probably survived. The vision Nunnally got from touching him is the biggest piece of evidence suggesting he had Charles’s code.

They obviously ended the show in a way where you couldn’t be 100% sure either way. Especially, that freaking close pan up of the cart driver’s head without revealing any facial features– it was so unnecessary!

The only complaint I have is, if Lelouch did survive, why didn’t he just take on Zero’s role himself after Suzaku “killed” him? Then he could be with Nunnally. Instead, he made Nunnally cry :'(

omake: I can’t get enough of Orange-kun yelling out his own name during his fight with Anya. He is so the Kamina of Code Geass.

        • So the Japanese also think that Lelouch is alive due to having Charles’s Code? In a way it makes the story SO much better overall if he did get Charles’s Code as it now makes sense as to why they did Charles’s arc first then Schneizel. Also it’s kinda awesome that Lelouch was Code Geass, hence the ending of the show was the title.

        • There’s nothing there that is implausible, but there’s a good amount of assumption in there that could not be verified by official sources.

Pretty awesome analysis though, best I’ve seen yet, would be awesome if it turned out to be all correct (if we could somehow find out…)
