German Cosplay – Connichi 2008

A Vipper has returned from his visit to popular German anime event Connichi 2008, and was kind enough to share copious photos of his trip, focusing on cosplay.
The event in question was held from the 12th to the 14th of September, at the Congress Palais Kassel (right in the middle of Germany), offering some historical surroundings.
This marks the seventh time it has been held, and an attendence of some 12,000 over three days is claimed, with a high proportion of cosplayers. All manner of anime related activities are on hand, but as ususal cosplay is amongst the most photogenic.

Like the Nabashin, Lust and Ghostbusters cosplay. The best interpritation was the Cid cosplayer and the best pose looked to be the 3x Link and Marth scene - the kind of thing you'd expect out of SSBB.
awww, too bad the Saber player above didn't make the breastplate correctly...
i don't know if i should feel fine or not for recognizing almost every character cosplayed XD
my favorites are the ones with the bleach girls, i like the character's attitude :P
WOW First time I see a Duran [MaiHime] cosplay!
First time a see a kyon cosplay, but it sucks!!! that cosplays are trash...
Like the Ash cosplay in the beginning. KoF needs moar love. Also Nozomu-sensei.
I'm also very glad that Europe does not have the same obsession with Narutu Sand Ninjas that America does.
I wish that there were more pictures of that Flandre cosplayer.
Also, I wonder what's with all the Russian stuff?
Seems like some pics from a different fair snuck in. We didn't have anything Russian at Connichi, at least not to this extent.

Unfortunately, the two images you see are all that the Vipper posted (he would have been a Japanese photographer, so you might remember him), and he didn't leave any contact details on his posts. I too would have liked to have seen more of you in higher resloution...

I'm in despair! The number of subpar cosplayers I had to scroll past to find the ones worth looking at has left me in despair!
No offense to the really rather good Saber up top, who was worth looking at despite requiring no scrolling whatsoever.
Oh God, what have they done to my Vitachan? Y'know, the guy who dress up as the US Army dude could've been an awesome-lookin' OPERATOR, but when I saw his shoes...

that magazine with the h-game screenshots was pretty random though
Wow, some of these are pretty great. It's nice to see good cosplay. The convention place looks nice, too. At least the had enough space to show the costumes properly. ^^
I still wish that people would put more effort in making a proper make-up. A plain, ordinary face doesn't really match a showy costume.
Actually the biggest problem at cosplaying in germany is the lack of stores that sell good wigs. I think that is a big issue in whole europe thought. The most people have to make the wigs themself, that is how I made my BRS wig.
The most biggest problem with cosplaying is that not every costume fits every body measure^^U

Even though Europe lacks cosplay stores my experience here in Hungary is that real cosplay fans put a lot of effort into their costumes^^ Which is in my point of view great!! =)
