One of the leading story based 3D eroge is the Love Death series, and the latest instalment, らぶデス３ / Love Death 3, nears release with a downloadable demo, or “benchmark”, version. There seem to have been some curious decisions made in designing this, with the result that it is as hard to play as it is bizarre, which you can see below…
Firstly, the complexity. You want to look at some nice 3D young ladies, perhaps undress them? Then memorise all this:
Now you can play. But it will still take another hour to get them stripped off.
For some reason you can beat the girls, after which they they’ll run screaming and whimpering from you; until they forget about your abusive ways, at least. It is much less amusing than it sounds. At least it got you this pantsu shot:
What is wrong with this game? You can exude dollops of this substance on command, and you can of course thus engage in some bukkake over the girls. It sticks to things, being pulled out in to great gelatinous strings, and if you target their legs you can actually cause them to fall over. For their part, they seem to enjoy it.
The game now takes on a 1990’s FPS mechanic with you having to wander around blurrily textured rooms and through non-clipping furniture. They should probably have stuck the girls on a 2D CG background if this is the best they could manage. The girls themselves look very nice, although their fidget animations are annoyingly overdone, and they all seem to be afflicted with severe asthma.
So I played around with it for a while, hoping to get some ecchi caps for you, but it’s so excruciatingly hard to play I soon had to give up. Apparently, it takes at least an hour to get their clothes off… I didn’t experience any ecstasy at all, either.

The character model looks very high quality. But looking at the flowchart and the keyboard map, make microsoft flight simulator like a tetris game.

HAHAHAHA, yeah right. Like a company would have pick something like this up. Duke Nukem Forever would have a better chance getting released than this in english.
Played it, i just skipped text, pressed the right mouse button when first being introduced to the girls, right after the cat fell from the tree, began to grope them, got them all hot and othered, swtich to the "take off" option, and took their clothes off. Then I had my way with them. Then I had an orgy... was good times... but the game isn't that great, and gets dull rather fast.
For an eroge,, it looks harder than some Ninja Gaiden games, and thats saying something O_o
It has the best computer-generated moe I've ever seen; I'm sure that'll keep the game selling well. If the series is well-known for having good stories, shouldn't that be the main aspect to judge by? I guess we'll have to wait for the proper release.
Unfortunately it's also known for being very difficult to actually play, and this accords with my experience of the earlier titles.
Despite what I've read, beating the girls was actually quite amusing. Especially when I began thorougly informing them of my status as being that of a juggernaut, and subsequently referring to them as female canine.
In all honesty though, I got tired of the demo. Fast. All I could figure out how to do is the above, feed them chicken, toss the piano around, and take off their hats/shoes. I was pretty much lost after that. Maybe the full version is better?
