Final Fantasy XIII Gets Xbox Release

In a surprising move, Square Enix chief 和田洋一 / Youichi Wada announced the highly anticipated , and previously PS3 exclusive, Square Enix mega blockbuster RPG is to get an Xbox 360 version as well as the PS3 release, though the Xbox release will be restricted to European and American markets. The announcement came unexpectedly at the end of the “Xbox 360 E308 Media Briefing”.
Expect more details to emerge from press conferences later.
Microsoft has been aggressively trying to rescue the Xbox 360 in the Japanese market with presumably bought and paid for “exclusive” (for a time at least) RPG releases; presumably this follows the same pattern, although getting a Japanese Xbox version may have been a bridge too far after all.
Could this stymie the PS3’s gradual rebound? If indeed we can say a rebound has been evident…

They've alienated and betrayed the Final Fantasy fans by putting it on xBox and that thus kills the ps3 side of it. Then the graphic reduction anoys xbox fans, forcing them to also dislike it.

Oh quite your bitching! Square made it clear that the Crystal Dynamics engine they're using was meant for multi-platform development so this isn't going to hinder the release... not that a release has even been announced. It was originally an exclusive title, but it's good to see some companies are attempting to reach out further into the gaming community. I don't understand the fuss about the game being ported to the 360. It just DOESN'T make sense. That's just more gamers to discuss Final Fantasy with. Ugh!
. . . and now I have no reason to even CONSIDER buying a PS3. I'm very happy.
