Perhaps inspired by her recent featuring in a “parody” adult flick, played by some scarlet lady vaguely resembling her, 平野綾 / Aya Hirano (Konata, Haruhi, etc.) has opted to engage in a spot of gravure photography herself: we hear that in Weekly Young Jump 33 (released on the 16th July), she will engage in a spot of provocative posing, with pinups promised, although given the lady and publication in question it will most certainly maintain the highest standards of taste.
She certainly seems set on burnishing her idol credentials, and her purse is probably bulging as a result… but do her fans welcome this, and do their opinions matter anyway?
Many hypocritical 2channel otaku seem to want her to be pure and stick to lower-paid voice work. Or that’s what they post, in between their oh-so-pure sessions with erotic photos of others. She’s ambitious. She should do what she wants. As long as she keeps doing great voice work as in Nijuumensou no Musume.
We’ll see if the Jump photos are any more revealing than the comparatively tame stuff she has allowed out so far. There is, of course, not the least connection between this and the AV thing you wrote about recently. The lead time for a magazine feature like this is longer than that.
