Some actual screens of the Tales of the Abyss anime have emerged, and information on the next two Tales game titles also emerges, though as both are for portables you will have to forgive a lack of enthusiasm on my part. Tales of Hearts will be released on the Nintendo DS in the winter, and on the PSP there is Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2, also due in the winter.
See below for the most ill advised character art in recent memory – Tales of Hearts truly has a do not want ambience to it.
On to the important stuff: screens of the Tales of the Abyss anime have emerged. Anise!
In fact they look scarcely any different from the in game anime, but this is as well. These images come from Gpara’s event report, though they are at least better than the usual pathetic offering by Famitsu.
Screens of Tales of Hearts.
The worst part of a bad bunch are the awful CG versions which somehow got made.
Screens of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2. Quite respectable looking.
Bit of a mishmash of characters from other Tales games. Bodes ill.
So in sum, there’s one awful looking DS game, a hodgepodge of Tales characters for the PSP, and one very promising anime.
Still no word on PS3 Tales of Vesperia…

Yet to play a second tales game that matchs Symphonias standards
I'm glad that they retain the drawing style for the abyss anime :)
hmm never played Tales radiant myth, but I see guy there, is that tales related with Tales of Abyss?
not sure if PS3 will get Tales of Vesperia, but namco announced that PS3 will get a new Tales series.
It's some kind of crossover, I see characters from three or more of the games in there... I would think the story would take a beating from that.
Vesperia is all but certain to come for PS3 as an improved edition once the bribe from MS wears off. An original PS3 Tales could be some way off so I hope ToV comes soon.
I would just like to revisit this post and acknowledge the complete accuracy.
Having played a decent chunk of the first Radiant Mythology, I can confirm that the story does suffer... from the effects of having no guarantee of specific characters in your party. There were plenty of amusing skits, and the interaction between characters from different games was handled quite well when it actually arose, but it becomes more than a little difficult to get proper interaction between characters and events when you have the option of just bringing a quartet of "custom characters" (read: goodguyish Faceless Mooks) to every plot-important mission.
So, yeah, definitely not going to be up there with the great RPG storylines of our day. Remember, kids, excessive customization to the detriment of narrative is *bad*.
