In an unusual choice of platform Square Enix’s latest RPG, Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes, has been released for the iPod of all things.
Naturally enough the game has a musical turn in that summoning involves playing music to summon characters, with the music affecting their stats. The story appears to be unremarkable heroic journey faire.
The game is sold via the iTunes store for ¥600, and is compatible with a variety of more recent iPod models.
Via Gigazine. Next up a game for your toaster?

I have played this game. Nice concert but during the battle it slows downs terribly due to its too-heavy-for-the-ipod graphics and it's so annoying. I want a fast-paced game for my iPod, not a slow-like-chicken one!
Yeah unfortunately for some unfathomable reason it's not compatible with the Touch, and I really wanted to try it out, too.
If only Samsung had RPGs on their MP3s
¥600 is pretty cheap.
