Director Kou Matsuo (Rozen Maiden, Kurenai) has taken the unusual step of publically criticising some of his less than worshipful seiyuu, in a Kurenai radio broadcast, singling out 沢城みゆき / Miyuki Sawashiro (Zetsubou Sensei, Persona 3, Utawarerumono, etc.) for particular opprobrium; though he doesn’t mention her by name, some arithmetic with their ages and the works in question soon confirms her as the likely scamp not showing proper deference to her elders, his main complaint.
For a young lady to omit the proper honourifics in dealing with a man decades her senior is clealry a grievous rebuke to him. For her part, she is expected to cut her belly in the time honoured fashion, in order to restore her honour after this shameful breach of etiquette.
He also complains of the cast taking liberties with his script and questioning his decisions – certainly a very directorly stance to take. He is on a distinguished road.
Source, or listen to it directly on the show in question (12 minutes in).
Reminds me of Shinku
Very distuingished indeed.
Care for a cup of tea, my good man?
I already liked Sawashiro Miyuki. Now I like her even more. As I understand it, she is always reading something, and a bit of a know-it-all. You go, girl.
But I’m not going to stop watching Matsuo Kou’s shows just because he’s an a**hole. He’s an artist, too.
not sure what you’re on about, but i assume it’s more than some strange annoyance toward a male figure in some kind of prejudiced manner? otherwise i would regret wasting 5 seconds looking at your post.. not saying u should care. after all you took little time explaining the additional info you might have acquired that none of us knew that let you arrive on such an insightful conclusion based on a few sentences of “news”.
