Missile Battery Welcomes Olympic Visitors

80623k

Perhaps fearful of a sneak attack by quiescent militarist neighbour Japan, China has laid on an impressive welcoming committee for visitors, in the form of a battery of HQ-7 SAMs commanding a view of the Olympic facilities. Japanese Zeros will doubtless fear to attack considering the high kill probability of this knock off of a superior French design. Their appears to be some fear of aircraft terrorism influencing the deployment.

Perhaps the Chinese government knows the potential capabilities of Uighur, Falungong, or Tibetan groups better than outsiders do. Your stream of weird articles from China should make it clear that it is an enormous, disorderly country with all sorts of outlandish things happening here and there.

I continue to be horrified by the reflex contempt people in Japan hold for China (gratuitous "knock-off of a superior French design"). With that attitude, they should not be surprised that most Chinese still hate them. Both peoples should give their heads a shake, in my opinion.

I'm glad someone takes the threat from the Tibetan airforce and suicidal Falungong hijackers seriously.

well, though not listed on Wikipedia, those things can actually used as a ground-to-ground missiles with a slight variation in the seeker, as the design itself is already fit for that, (albeit not specialized)

Ahh nothing like a militaristic presence to solidify that feeling of world unity that the Olympics are supposed to symbolize.
