Man Tries to Kill Son with Scissors over Mobile

A grandfather (75), who attempted to beat to death his son (48) with a large pair of scissors/shears over his son’s decision to buy his middle school age daughter a mobile phone, has been arrested for attempted murder.

The scissors in question were no ordinary household scissors – at 51cm long with 13cm blades they were intended as pruning shears, though in the old man’s eyes they proved a useful impromptu club. He beat his son round the head with them repeatedly, injuring him badly and causing his arrest for attempted murder. Via Yomiuri.

This strikes me as a bizarre parody of yesterday’s news of some other old men opposed to child mobile use. Incidentally, 2ch is now calling for bans on old men and scissors…
