Another fine example of Chinese ingenuity, this toilet combines fish keeping practicality with water saving economy. Not only does it incorporate water saving technology, with a direct connection of the flush function to the water supply obviating entirely the need for an apparently wasteful reservoir, it is also a shrewd piece of marketing, as with no need for a water reservoir the aquarium serves no purpose other than to draw onlookers and prompt questions about what happens to the fish, easily fielded with a informative lecture on the new water saving technology.
Via here.
the fishes will all die by crappy smell.
At first, I thought that the flush was provided by the goldfish tank, thoroughly filtered for fish, of course. Then I realized that incoming Chinese tap water would kill the fish prettey quickly.
Therfore, I am correct in assuming that this toilet uses water mains pressure to flush, like industural toilets, right? God, why can’t all toilets be like this, instead of the low flow BS that clogs after a heavy piss?
At least when it dies you don’t have to carry it far…
the gold fish just go with the crap~
Sarcasm is written all over the place.
And seriously, WTF? I have no idea why they would use ingenuity on ideas like these. They could have spent it better on more serious issues.
It sounds as if they are just trying to cash in on a government water usage reduction target… I suppose water security counts as an unglamourous serious issue.
