Soul Calibur IV to Have Strippable Characters

It seems one of the new additions to Soul Calibur IV will be the ability for characters to lose clothing (“armour”) as battle damage. The pictures and videos (below) seem unambiguous in showing a variety of characters, male and female, suffering clothing destruction to varying degrees.

An interesting feature, though one I’m sure Namco intend to carry off tastefully (ever notice how skirted female characters close their legs when KO’ed?). That said, some of the characters have little enough clothing to lose…
So will Vader and Yoda be strippable? What about Astaroth and Voldo? More importantly for players outside Japan, will this functionality be included in the international release? There is no evidence either way so far (assuming the screens come from the Japanese version), but the recent censorship of the NA character artwork is less than promising in this regard.

Hey, this is just like eroge Battle Raper 2...
SNK did this waaaay back in Art of Fighting, with one character! They added in another for AoF 2 and the first two King of Fighters.
...Is Yoda in Soulcalibur IV? O_O
Battle Raper anyone?
Fighting Vipers on the Saturn anyone?
If only they made a guro with it...
*licks lips*
Hmmm..... I smell an H-mod in the making... In b4 Vader and Yoda
Another thing to add. Instead of stripping, why didn't they think of adding real battle damage like bruises, bleeding and etc. Oh~ that would be awesome.
Some guy who does know his stuff tested it out and informed us that it is theoretically, and most likely, difficult to actually do much armor-breaking stuff against a decent player in a tournament level match. Still, whether or not it will be included in the NTSC release is a good question which I doubt anyone raised so far.
Not that I like the option, but it better be at least well thought out in advance and not something that is added just for a change from the previous in the series. Perhaps they were reminiscing about the first Soul Edge/Blade.
Thanks for the info - I assume this system is going to fit into the higher level play, as well as being there for people to try and knock Sophitia's skirt off, then.
Personally, even though I am a great fan of SC, I get the feeling the series is starting to turn into a bit of a dog's dinner... their development resources might be better spent elsewhere. Vader in particular seems a cash in too far.
Not to worry, they ARE cutting their losses and pulling out, they said somewhere, I cannot confirm, that they are making this the last in the series. SC3 was a huge flop and I have no good expectations for SC4 after all these news out. I will play it for kicks maybe, if I ever get a next-gen console that is.
Perhaps they should just stick to remaking SC II... it worked for Capcom. Still, it is a shame to see the franchise disintegrate like this.
You do know this feature stems from h-game d'you? Oh, and some modded version of old street fighter game comes with this feature.
I'm going to buy japanese release for this game.. US version will have some of the clothing censored =\ (so far they added more clothing for ivy in the US ver)
