The recent Strike Witches only event we heard about stipulated that Cosplay Witches not engage in any indecent pantsu display; fortunately, it seems using the show’s own logic they were in fact able to cosplay in items of clothing in fact very much resembling pantsu, but in fact not pantsu, such as Francesca’s shimapan here being bikini bottoms.
This also meant that nothing in the slightest bit embarassing took place:

For some reason, the recent cast off figure rendition of Hatsune Miku, by GSC, neglected to include the appropriate striped pantsu, or shimapan, instead opting for plain white. Quite an omission for a figure whose main selling point (apart from being gorgeous) is the removable skirt.
Fortunately, some simple modification involving paint and a paintbrush yields the appropriate results:

A Haruhi/Nagato cosplayer shows very sporting attention to detail in this interesting crouching pose, wearing classic shimapan/striped pantsu. From her top it must be Nagato, but she has Haruhi-ish hair, I’d say.
I’m not sure how common striped pantsu are amongst the general female populace in Japan or elsewhere, but my guess is quite uncommon?
