
It was with pleasant surprise that I formed my initial, highly favourable, impressions of the Tales of the Abyss anime adaptation, and now after seeing three such episodes of superb quality, I’d like to take the opportunity to recommend the anime unreservedly.

As we heard, several games based on recently concluded loli pantsu anime Strike Witches are due, one for the DS and the other for the PS2. Further details rule out the possibility of an interesting shooting game; the PS2 version looks to be a standard adventure game, whilst the DS is said to be simulation game. Both are due in the spring.

Being a huge fan of the PS2 science fantasy RPG upon which this anime is based, I was apprehensive about the Tales of the Abyss adaptation, thinking it could well suffer a mediocre remake. However, I am delighted to say the anime is already shaping up to be one of astonishing quality.

The huge success of the Strike Witches DVD edition has been accompanied by a commemorative event at Akihabara, with the cast in attendance; although the hoped for news of a second season did not emerge, announcements did include the news that there are to be Strike Witches games for both the Nintendo DS and the PS2.

Monster Hunter may never have really caught on outside Japan, but it amassed quite a following in Japan, and with such a following comes interesting artwork. Even if you have no interest in the RPG, the prospect of some alluring monster girls and warrioresses should be of interest.

Persona 4 is out, and there are plenty of videos of the game in action. This is probably the pinnacle of PS2 gaming, and it shows, though it is still regrettable they opted to neglect the PS3 (as you can tell, I don’t seem to be able to get over this); could they not have at least produced an enhanced version?
Incidentally, the US version is due December 9th, but without Rie Kugimiya & co. why would you want such a thing?

Atlus seems set on drumming up interest in almost released Persona 4 by the most prurient of methods – a onsen peeping game involving spying on the young ladies of the protagonist’s group bathing.

Famed seiyuu 釘宮理恵/Rie Kugimiya is set to voice one of the characters in Persona 4, perhaps a welcome break for her from voicing slot machines. She will voice Rise Kujikawa, an idol who returns from the big city to her hometown, the backwater country town setting of Persona 4.
