Pictured is Nanjing station, where boxes upon boxes of cats fill the station, and the air is ceaselessly pierced by their wailing. There are some 1,400 in this shipment alone, and three shipments are due the same day for a total of 5,000 cats.
The cats are going to China’s culinary capital (of sorts), Guangzhou, where an unparalleled variety of animals are eaten.
They are destined to become what is prosaically called “活猫水煮” / “Boiled alive cat”, a dish made by hitting the cat on the head to quieten it, and then throwing it in a pot of boiling water whilst it still lives:

These charming felines look as if they want to help in assembling the computers they infest, or else destroy them completely… PC assembly has never been so fraught.
A man who picked up a pair of kittens and reared them as pets for six months was shocked to discover his “cats” were actually leopards when they started killing and eating his sheep.
The identity of scandal cat here has been concealed to ensure no damage to his (or more shockingly, her) reputation. The meganekko he is using to wash himself with seemingly needs no such treatment, however.

Cat antics are as popular on NucoNuco Douga a they are on YouTube, so it should come as no surprise to see that this video of an eccentric, and rather overweight, cat intent on inserting itself into boxes (and seemingly derivng great pleasure from so doing), has become one of the most popular in short order.
Pictures of cats, or ぬこ / nuko to go by their correct Vipper name, seem to be a staple of image board culture in both East and West, so I’m sure this neko gallery will be of interest to some.
Pilgrims to Akihabara are delighted by the fact that curious sign board sleeping cat, of no small fame, has suddenly gained comrades, now bringing the number of perching neko to three. Swarms of onlookers have increased correspondingly, now forming a considerable throng.
Just what is it they find so appealing about sleeping in such a spot?
Another blockbuster cat MAD emerges on Nico, which is inevitably compared to the great Neko x Gong, though it seems the creator of this work has tried to accomplish something original; the results seem favourable. Watch it below.
