Living up to its name, the 2012 Winter WonFes delivers many figure wonders to the attending hordes of otaku statue fanciers – not least a vast array of magical puellae and scores of fine figures from the latest series.
Following on from the $6,000 success of nude Miku comes bridal Miku, unusually buxom and fetching an impressive bride price of ¥389,000.
A nude filter modded figure of virtual diva Hatsune Miku has fetched a rather impressive sum at auction.
The end result of the intersection of moeblobs and figurines can be seen in the perturbing Yui Hirasawa figure seen here.
Wonder Festival, the unquestionably preeminent figure and garage kit event in Japan, held its Winter 2010 event yesterday on February 7.
As always, the event provided a ravishing amount of otaku eye-candy, running the gamut from pre-painted PVC figures from companies such as Alter, Good Smile and Kotobukiya to a vast assortment of resin garage kits from tiny doujin circles…
The Hobby Complex GK01 (Hobikon GK) was held recently, and had as its name suggests, a focus on garage kits – kits of unpainted resin that require assembly and painting by the hobbyist, rather than the much more numerous pre-painted PVC figures that make up the vast share of the figure industry.
A niche interest perhaps, but still an event worthy of notice for fans of figures, and especially so for garage kit enthusiasts who were deprived of this season’s Wonder Festival due to last year’s near-fatal accident.
Good Smile Company have made this rather striking special Good Smile Nendoroid Hatsune Miku version as a prize for “Photocon”, an event dealing with photography and the like.
A fan has either made this incredibly tiny, yet recognisable, miko Hiiragi Tsukasa micro-figure, or as 2ch would have it, he has made an enormous ¥100 coin. Either would be quite impressive.
The latest Hobby Complex was recently held at the Tokyo Big Sight, and the Internet has since seen a deluge of of photos taken of the countless PVC figures and garage kits displayed.

Macross F character クラン・クラン / Klan Klan (or however you care to romanise it) is here given a rather special, not to mention skilful, doujin figure adaptation, which as you can see involves extreme miniaturisation.
With a wide selection of loli figures, and the first glimpse of Nagi’s pantsu in figure form, to say nothing of a plethora of less remarkable ero-figures, the recent クレイズ萌え～ろ祭り2008 / Clayz Moero Matsuri 2008 offered up some interesting sights indeed.
