Minori Changes Tune: “Dirty Foreigners Buy Our Games!”

In a sudden and unexpected about face, visual novel publisher Minori has gone from blocking non-Japanese users from its site with accusations of piracy and patronising suggestions they come to Japan if they want to play them, to asking they buy them in a joint venture with MangaGamer.

Even more surprisingly, the translations will be provided by the same fan translation group Minori was previously at pains to stop…

Makes sense to ME... The way I see it, Piracy can be used to either promote or boycott. What the fansubers were doing initially was to promote Minori's products by making them available to a non-Japanese market. True,... More

Ichigo Marshmallow, Ef, Get New Series

Announced at Rondo Robe 2008 are new Ichigo Marshmallow and Ef: A Tale of Memories titles; the all important Ichigo Marshmallow title is set to be an OVA series of indeterminate length (excruciatingly short would be my guess), with no release details as yet, and Ef will be getting a new season, due to start in the autumn (actually leaked yesterday).

I’m afraid this information is so fresh there isn’t even any groundless 2ch speculation with which to pad things out, so I’ll leave it at that. From the site of some no-name magazine, via Moonphase.
