The pages, which outline the body of the scandal surrounding her – that she apparently had sex with 3 out of 4 members of her band, who were all later sacked at the same time, and went on to take various dubious photographs of herself, as well as aggravating her remaining fans with remarks on TV to the effect that she has broken the hearts of more than a few of the older men she prefers to bed:

Whilst some seiyuu certainly regard themselves as professional voice actors and are generally treated as such, those who choose to market themselves as idols in order to exploit the commercial possibilities of thousands of obsessive maniacs certainly have a fine line to walk, as evidenced by the response of otaku to those who break character.

For those not following his recent career, after his triumph with Haruhi, Yamakan has become widely ridiculed online – having squandered his reputation in a variety of provocative Internet exchanges, only to then become a laughing stock with the abject failure of Fractale, upon which he staked what was left of his reputation.

In other news, after glibly ignoring the scandal at her heels and nipping off to attend an event in Taiwan where she correctly wagered that her uncontroversial “Hirano = Haruhi” image still held sway, she returned only to tweet of her dismay at finding herself locked out of her own blog, saying she was looking forward to being able to make a “big announcement” in the coming days – though likely just the details of her new agency.

Whether this was merely the result of transient technical problems or some final spat with her agency is not clear – although it seems probable even a change of agency will not solve her image problems, and associating herself with the second most controversial figure in the anime business certainly will not…

Aya Hirano has announced that she has “decided to quit” her agency Space Craft, and that she has closed her fan club (which apparently still had members) as well.

In a lengthy (for Hirano) update on her official blog, she claims that in fact she intended to quit her agency all along, having been engaged in stalled negotiations to leave since last year.

Hirano’s explanations have not always accurately reflected the actual course of events, but even her explanation does seem compatible with the leaked explanation that she was stripped of her musical career as punishment for having sex with her band and sexually harassing her recalcitrant bassist, only to be liquidated by the agency by way of the recent leaks, all of which seem to have come from sources close to the agency itself.

In fact the only allusion she makes to the scandal that has engulfed her is a conspicuously oblique one:

“I had intended to officially announce the closure of my fan club via this blog and Twitter on the 20th, but due to a variety of overlapping and astonishingly unexpected circumstances, so as not to further worry fans I will be bringing forward the announcement.”

It is not clear whether the closure of her fan club was forced by her departure from her agency, or whether it was simply down to the sheer difficulty of maintaining a fan club in the absence of actual fans.

She gives no specific information as to the future direction of her career, although apparently she still entertains the notion that there will be one:

“We’ll be arranging future developments here after on a daily basis, so there should be happy announcements to follow.”

On the other hand, the only concerns being voiced by “fans” at this stage appear to be over whether Haruhi should be recast and when Hirano will make her appearance in an AV…

Scandal seiyuu Aya Hirano has reportedly been sacked from her agency “Space Craft” as a result of her controversial conduct finally becoming public.

According to media reports, she has “left” (nobody is ever sacked in Japan) her agency as a result of her reputation hitting the gutter after the recent leak of her efforts to turn her band into a harem.

Hirano watchers will recall that this is the agency that she previously complained was “stopping her making new music” and that she claimed that “nobody in my new team knows anything about my past career” and that “they forced me to change career direction” – in retrospect it appears she had been making certain massive omissions in describing the situation.

There is also some suspicion that the timing of the leaks and her removal are connected, with her agency having decided to wash their hands of an unmanageable performer by ensuring the details found their way into scandal rags.

However, despite the reports she is still listed on the agency’s site and  has still been making various appearances, at worst suggesting that her removal is to be a gradual affair.

Hirano still has not commented at all about the scandal, but oddly all the post-scandal photographs on her site seem to show her wearing dark sunglasses indoors or surgical masks in public…

Dark seiyuu Aya Hirano has complained of putting on 6kg in only 5 days, which she puts down to pigging out on tasty Osaka cuisine, but which seemingly everyone else has a wide variety of unsavoury explanations for.

From her blog (she has not tweeted since her sex pics were leaked):

“I’ve put on 6kg lately [13 pounds in Yankee metrics] so I’m on a bit of a diet… I ate a bit too much whilst I was in Osaka with my musical for 5 days.”

“Fans” have reportedly expressed doubts as to whether it is really healthy for a waif like Hirano to diet, although it seems her health might be more in danger from managing to put on 6kg in 5 days.

Hirano is of course already known both for her voracious appetite (for food in this case) and her ripped body, so her sudden weight gain could mean any number of things.

2ch is full of tasteless theories about how she managed to pile on the pounds:

“It’s because of all the semen?”

“So she’s finally pregnant.”

“Because she’s a sexpot.”

“Doesn’t she have something more important to be talking about?”

“Her hormone balance is way off…”

“She probably doesn’t even know who the father is.”

“She’s probably been pigging out because of the stress.”

“She’s a hot girl really, when you think about it. It’s a waste for her to be a seiyuu.”

“A girl with a 6-pack like that must be deliciously tight.”

“That bitch really talks about the most inane of things.”

“It’s just a side effect of being on the pill.”

“All that semen she swallowed…”

“There is no way she could have put that much on in so short a time. How much would she have to eat!?”

“She finally got rid of all those creepy fans so now she can live the good life!”

“After that picture, are there even any lifeliners left? If there are they must be seriously messed up.”

The spectacular self-destruction of “rampant” seiyuu Aya Hirano’s career has made the pages of top Japanese gossip rag Friday, which alleges her agency killed her musical career in order to punish her for having sex with her band.

Their expose essentially confirms the authenticity of the photographs and the claim that she ruined her music career by treating her band as a personal harem; it also dispenses with “Aya Hira**” and refers to her by name:

An idol magazine editor has this to say:

“Seiyuu fans hate seiyuu love scandals even more than normal fans would. After she lost her prim and proper black-haired image, fans soon started to call her a ‘bitch.’ Perhaps deceiving her own fans by acting in accordance with this image was difficult for her.

If these leaked pictures are genuine, it’s hard to call her conduct anything but rash and irresponsible. Nobody cares if she has a boyfriend, but taking pictures of herself in bed with him is outrageous and won’t wash with fans or sponsors. Perhaps she lost sight of the fact that her image is her precious ‘product’?”

A source close to Hirano says the photograph is genuine, and that the man pictured was her 2008 touring guitarist. And not only that – from 2008-2010 she had intimate relations with 3 of her 4 band members. And at the end of 2010 her agency replaced all her band members…

“In May last year she stopped all musical activity, saying she wanted to pursue her career as artist but couldn’t. In fact, it would seem her agency may have been punishing her for her activities with her band.”

Performers aren’t forbidden for pursuing romantic liaisons. But excessively rampant private lives will have an impact on their careers. Even if Hirano thinks “love is the fertile soil from which art springs,” this leak is only going to further quicken the alienation of her fans.

Friday has a circulation an order of magnitude greater than that of Bubka, so it would seem there is no going back now.

Although it has long since become a stretch to call this the “fan reaction,” her dissolution is still proving more of a draw than her career ever did – though by now more concern is being expressed for the future of Haruhi than for her career prospects:

“There’s no going back for her now!”

“What’ll they do about Haruhi’s voicing now…”

“She can still find work as a fallen idol.”

“Her 3 man hare finally m came out in print…”

“Why would show business sources say that stuff about her? Show business is scary stuff…”
