You mean like the heritage of Osamu Tezuka using inspiration from Disney to make his characters? You mean like Watanabe using westerns as inspiration for Bebop? Tradition is what you make of it, and staying closed off from other societies may seem fine to you; but if Japan never opened itself up to countries like [...]

No, Aliens: Colonial Marines sucked on so many levels. It’s far, far worse. They offered worse graphics than promised in early reveals, and it was a lame game.

Aku no Hana is a good show.

Flowers of Evil is probably the best anime of this season. Definitely in the top 3. I wouldn’t care if it was stick figures or sock puppets. Fuck it! The content is above the art.

So now fujoshi’s a bad word, too? Who cares if the fujoshi fanatic is making a fujoshi show? It’s about boys swimming! Were you going to watch that?

You are showing your age. Only a young person would spout such incredible nonsense. Go watch some actual Japanese film, then come back and try and make the statement again.

At the least, it’s a troll statement. At most, it’s borderline racism. Whatever it is, it sure is ignorant.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post “Can You Recognise Aya Hirano Now?”   2 months, 1 week ago · View

Huh? What is this even about? They’re still attacking Hirano? I don’t get the whole chastity policing fans do in japan. It’s fucking immature.

I hope she gets hired in a very successful film, so otaku can flip their shit.

I am not a sports fan, but I have to ask: what makes Kuroko’s Basketball so appealing? It’s definitely the most beloved sports anime I’ve seen in a while.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post Colin Powell to Japan: “Manga Is Turning You Into Herbivores”   5 months, 2 weeks ago · View

Such bait! The person asking the question says “herbivores” so when Powell says it, he’s the one who came up with it? WTF? I bet people didn’t even bother to read what he said in context.

“Rigorously ranked?” That’s sarcasm, right? Some of these are good, but I hope this is not an “of all time” list. It has zero sense of history. I hate those kind of lists.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post Aya Hirano “Hates Otaku” “Has Quit Being A Seiyuu”   5 months, 3 weeks ago · View

People just hate to hate. Miserable fucks. The majority of American fans certainly haven’t met her, and these otaku dorks in Japan MAYBE stood on a line to shake her hand once? If you hate here work, OK, but otaku don’t know shit about her! I’ve read her Twitter, and it’s no different from any [...]

They made her career, but they also vilified her for being an adult who dares to have any sort of adult interests! I am a fan, and I HATE fans! Why would you want to pander to otaku when they rip you like that?

Don’t bother. He doesn’t get it.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post NMB48 “Tossing Otaku Gifts In The Trash”   6 months ago · View

No matter how good a gift is, a bunch of fans sending them to 48 people is inevitably going to turn into a horrid hoarder pile!

If anyone seriously thinks them throwing that away is bad, they’re delusional.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post Top 15 Yuri Anime   7 months, 1 week ago · View

Yeah, it’s not blatantly yuri, but people get it in their heads that two characters love each other.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post Top 15 Yuri Anime   7 months, 1 week ago · View

I was jokingly going to say that “Yuri Yuri should be #1! It’s in the name- twice” But I guess it’s no joke, eh?

Judging by all the Yuri Yuri fanboys here, it’s not a mystery as to why other anime fans would vote it so high. Hey, maybe I should watch it.

What do you consider great? List some.

I don’t like people who only love old stuff, but I don’t like people who think only new things are what’s great.

  • YotaruVegeta commented on the blog post “Top” 25 Worst Anime of Summer 2012   7 months, 1 week ago · View

No, right off the bat it was interesting. You’re locked in a game, people are going to die with no ability to see the real world again. The show was thoroughly entertaining and a lot more mature than I ever expected it to be. If you’re bored, you’re bored, whatever, but it wasn’t “terrible” I [...]

I watched all of Natsuyuki. While it’s definitely not well-paced, I think it was well-written, and definitely not a bad anime. I could understand if people would drop it during the whole dream half of the show. It dragged.
