Someone illustrating the mating habits of Salmon isn’t strange or ‘messed up’. Even if you exaggerate the process, it’s pretty much “Eh”.

It is not like it’s the first manga or comic book about the life of anthro fish.

Even if you dislike Naruto, you at least have to take notice that it is an international hit. Its success can be equated to the Sailor Moon series. It is not easy for an imported show to see such longevity outside of its country of origin.
