Actually, now that you mention it, video game conservations all seem to go like this:

I just put the old OCZ RAM back in there and took the G.Skill RAM out completely like I said. And it's still not booting up. When I press MemOK, it just flashes and flashes and never makes any progress like before.

This is why I hate working on computers. This kind of thing always happens to me.

What do I do now? Try turning on the computer without any RAM in it? Can a computer end turn on without any RAM in it?

I went from a computer that blue screens all the time to a computer that won’t even boot up. Sigh.

Ack, I’ve heard about CMOS before but have to idea how that stuff works.

I also have no idea how to properly mess with the voltages in the BIOS. I knew I was going to have to someday for overclocking. But haven’t, yet.

I take it I need to hurry and take out the new RAM, only have in the old RAM like I said I would, and attempt booting. Then go into BIOS and change it, and after changing it, take out the old RAM and put back in the new RAM.

But I have not a clue what voltage to set it to or anything.

Mind giving me a bit more walkthrough?

Well, crud, I'd been avoiding and procrastinating replacing the RAM for a while enough though I had already bought. Because you are all aware that I hate working on my computer. And if I could still use it at all, I didn't immediately want to get in and do the hassle of working on it. Especially since I haven't been feeling so great lately.

Well today was the day, a few days after Thanksgiving, I decided to go ahead with it. Tonight I decided to stop putting it off.

I put my new DDR3 G.skill 2×4 GB into my ASUS LGA 1155 memory slots. To replace the mildly faulty RAM that was currently in there.

And it won't boot up! MemOK is completely red. I also tried opening it up and pressing the MemOK button so that maybe it would fix the the problem. But it just keeps flashing and trying to boot.

I don't know what to do other than try to return the RAM and order some new RAM. I hope I didn't break anything. I think it's the right RAM and everything. I mean, I know it's DDR3, just like my OCZ Gold RAM.

Oh dear, what to do?

I’m going to go put in the old OCZ Gold RAM again and completely remove the current G.Skill Ripjaws and hope everything goes back to normal. But how annoying. At the very least I know OCZ Gold 2 GB RAM with it. So I guess if I had to, I could just buy more of it. But it would be better to have better RAM than that.

It's nice to know how despite all of the sexist male douchiness that comes from a lot of the users on this site, loads of heterosexual male centric porn and stories, and general creepiness, we still manage to bring in a few female users.
