Most western cartoons are crappily animated as well (fluidity alone does not equal good animation) and they still manage to eat millions of dollars of production funds despite that… Personally I’d take the Japanese philosophy of highly aesthetic designs over the 30fps-but-eye-cancer-inducing western concept of animation any day.
