Anime has been awful for years, long, long before Haruhi. I’d struggle to think of when the last good anime series was made. Probably some time in the mid 90s.

Personally I wish most modern anime hadn’t happened. Anime has gone from being full of great sci-fi, horror, and high concept stuff to a seemingly endless line of school dramas full of panty shots of nearly naked infants. Really quite disturbing.
