I finished it when the Japanese version came out on the PSP. I loved it! Now I can actually recommend it to people! Book of Shadows just came out too.

Yea I know I’m replying to a 2 month old post. I just gave it a try so here’s how it is.

This is a really linear game. You get tossed in to a map with a certain objective to complete. There may be forks in the road, but everything is blocked off so you can only follow the single path to complete a mission. There are several missions that will reuse the map, which in turn, lets you eventually explore the entire thing. Moving on to the next map or ‘stage’ consists of completing the missions, getting sent to the menu, and choosing the next stage.

Battle system is also very simple. You will run in to enemies on the map and be sent into a battle like a normal RPG. The battle is real-time action, but with huge restraints.

There is no walking around the area. A battle consists of moving the cursor towards the enemy, and pressing the fire button. The enemy will follow a straight forward sequence of preparing to attack, and attacking you. The enemy will always flash before an attack. You may hold the guard button, or press the dodge button with proper timing to take the attack. The dodge button moves you between 2 absolute set spots, so the only skill in it is timing. Pressing dodge twice will simply put you back where you started, and you can take an attack if the enemy attack sequence is still running.

Other than that, there are achievement records that will unlock things when you complete them. These consist of special moves that you can equip to a button, and basic stat boosts. There’s also a free hunt mode that lets you basically run through an old stage to fight, level up, and collect items.

Here’s a horrible thing to do. I once did this for my high school psychology class on the topic of natural observation. Hop on a bus, sit down across from someone (make sure they don’t look threatening) and just stare at them through the entire ride. Don’t start a conversation. Just stare.

I think its the most universal console controller out there, and I’m not going to be able to afford it, nor will I find too many games I’d like to play with it. The Wii was good and fun when it first came out, but actual games in the “gamer” sense didn’t come often. Besides, I mostly play JRPGs anyway (yea i know this site looks down on the rehashing, but I can’t help it. I like them). Its kinda bulky for a motion controller too.

Nintendo keeps saying that its been created to target the hardcore gamer audience, but I just can’t see myself getting it at this point.

Spec wise, the $250 price on the PSV isn't really that bad. It uses a 5-inch OLED screen (which aren't cheap!), multi touch capacitive touch pad (multi touch is IMPORTANT! not sure if the front screen is multi though), and still has dual cameras. Has 6 axis motion sensors too (its what the ps3 controller uses).

The cameras are the same if I have the right info, but the PSV has the same opening price while all its other specs completely destroy anything the 3DS has. It still runs on a resistive touch screen (which are only a couple of bucks to buy). Its only redeeming feature is the 3D screen, which doesn't captivate everyone since 3D gives people headaches.

This thing is basically an improved current generation ipod touch that can play full hardcore games, costs more, has no internal memory, and currently, no user base.

EDIT: oh, and it has a really crappy name!

Nah, I actually liked it better. I played that game for a good 2 weeks, which is a lot, considering that I like to concentrate ALL my free time on to a single game at a time.
