In the original thread, Meitetsu Nagoya was labeled as being “shabby” because of the sheer lack of platforms- only two trains are able to stop at any one time. Add to that a horribly cramped space for the 280,000 commuters using Meitetsu’s main hub, and the appeal of anything else is lost on oneself.

Note that in Japan, absences due to serious contagious diseases and whatnot are considered 「公欠」, which is not counted. Also, in the original article, it was mentioned that a few students had days where they did come to school, but left quite early.
