Ok. I’ve made this crazy thread title to get the attention. Without a catchy title nobody would check it. The low quality of cosplay costumes is not a Japan only thing (you have to admit that no matter if it’s Japan, USA, Russia or UK, for each good costume there is like 200 bad ones). I’ve seen quite a lot of cosplay throughout the years (My first conventions were in middle 90′s) and most of it is like “let’s check what do we have in the closet and what can we make out of it”. Even if the cosplayers have some cool costumes, when they go out to the stage, their acting is like: “Umm… I’m Asuka from Evangelion. I hope I’ll win.” one turn around a few jumps and this is it for the acting. So if someone makes the effort of obtaining an awesome costume and tries to look and act like a character it is worth mentioning. I’ve heard that song in the background for the first time in my life, and it’s ok. I’m more of the DragonForce/Turisas/Sonata Arctica/Rhapsody type of guy, but anything is ok for a background noise. Does the whole thing put japanese to shame? I’d rather say it puts 90% of any given cosplayers to shame.
    This is it.

@Nin: You got me. The easiest solutions are the hardest to figure out. I had a sudden facepalm when I read that you just checked my posting history.

I think it’s some really good cosplay. Not something that you see a lot on comiket (or even on the western cons). Those people put a lot of work into their outfits. I’m not saying that western cosplay is better in general. It’s just that those are some good examples of how it should be made. About the music, it’s just a background, doesn’t matter that much. Not something I would love, but doesn’t bother me either.
@Nin Wow, you’ve got a great memory. To be honest I forgot that I wrote that thread.

But still it seems that if you make a right title of the thread it stucks in people’s minds ;).

I’ve found this one today. I think that Japanese cosplayers could learn a lot from that.

I guess, what they meant was that Shironeko was no longer a competitor of Kirino, not that she was removed all together. Kirino and Ruri are feirce enemies in love and the best friends in life at the same time. Removing Ruri would be impossible. I remember when she got pissed when she thought that [...]

Hell yeah! I was hoping for it. I like Shironeko, but I’m a die hard fan of tsundere girls. So let’s hope for the wincest. Anyway, it’s exactly as the guy that is commenting on Oreimo novels said. End of 7th novel is either a red flag for Shironeko or the weird ending for Kirino [...]

LOL! On YesAsia it costs 180 USD and on AmiAmi it is 7730 Yen, which is roughly 99 USD. I wonder if YesAsia pays Sankaku for linking their 100% overpriced goods :P.
