Think I thought of it as being really shallow and immature because of it's fanbase at the time tbh. Looking back now, it doesn't seem that way – very immature and stupid and etc I guess, as caring about all that stuff reduced how much I enjoyed watching the show.

Thinking back, Steins;Gate wasn't really that bad was it? Think I was too harsh on it at the time because of it's, imo, incredibly incredibly annoying fanbase.

Also I’ve been rewatching Pokemon because I’ve been playing Pokemon Soul Silver. Currently wondering whether to completely rewatch it (700+ eps) or whether that may be too much right now.

Just wasted 1 hour watching that, well, I was EV training my Larvitar so it wasn't really that bad, but still. Well, maybe I didn't really waste it so much, because in short, I watched it because I wanted to stroke my ego. In fact, I'm now posting about it because I wanted to stroke my ego a little more and feel as if I know something about all this type of stuff.

People 'troll' because it gives them a sense of achievement and bigs up their ego. But that's really the same reason why they make jokes, why they debate endlessly about topics they have very little understanding off, and why they in fact do a lot of the things they do in general.

Just that, it's much easier to be a cunt anonymously on the internet without fearing any real long term repercussions then actually doing something worthwhile.

Jokes take some skill, debates take some energy and at least a little understanding of the topic and so on.. but trolling is all about simply taking advantage of the perceived ignorance of the other party and then laughing at that ignorance and your perceived sense of being 'in the know'.

Saying things that lead to 'responses' by those 'not in the know', when you (or maybe the community, group (e.g. a joke that only regulars would get) etc) 'know' that you were only 'being retarded'.

It's like looking at poor people from your pent house suite sipping some expensive drink. You aren't in the grand scheme of things, necessarily that much happier, healthier whatever, but looking down on the poor people (the different people, unconsciously or consciously) gives you that small sense of superiority – and that can be addictive for some.

You can trust everything I said here, because I have a PhD in blada blada blah.
