Its a fairly safe car, as you can see.

Besides: people who can afford one Ferrari can probably afford two or three and in the insurance to cover them.

    Its all covered.
We commoners can now go back to paying a higher premium for every parking ticket we get…

100mph is not that fast for most cars.
    Especially not for supercars.

As a general rule of thumb, I avoid putting my penis into things which eventually plug into a 110V wall socket.

Hmm… Yes, Yes, I approve of this choice!
    He certainly looks the part.
I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Helicopters operate from forward positions. The ground color schemes would hide them from other aircraft. Its no use in the air. Either you have stealth or you have a friend watching your back. I don’t think any sane commander would choose to send an aircraft into battle like that, but honestly I doubt it would [...]

    I’ll drink to that!

  • Fred commented on the blog post JSDF HomuHomu Cobra   7 months, 3 weeks ago · View

The biggest threat to a helicopter comes from radar or thermal guided guns and missiles, which couldn’t care less what color paint you choose.
You could probably hang a disco-ball from the thing and it wouldn’t affect your chances in combat much.

The camo scheme does more to protect you from corrosion than enemy fire.

Weapon makers always have strange bedfellows. The young nation of Israel was using Messerschmidts for its first airforce. Iran flew F-14′s against Iraq and the Germans currently use several kinds of Russian made aircraft. I suppose we aren’t in any position to call them out on it. More than a few pieces of USAF equipment [...]

I think I’m somewhat more amused at seeing the flying tigers sharkface on a Japanese vehicle.
Tho the war is a long time past and the irony is probably lost on todays generation.

More like: Top worst lists are the top worst anime that everyone has seen. There are some really bad shows out there, but they don’t get as much air time. Everyone’s seen the top ten tho, and they can pick two or three they didn’t like. Which explains how shows like K-on get on the [...]

  • Fred commented on the blog post Ishihara: “Japan Must Become a Nuclear Armed Military State”   9 months, 3 weeks ago · View

I doubt anyone would invade Japan for reasons beyond the political, but those reasons are good enough. Thing is: Remember that graph that pops up on political forums showing how out of kilter US military spending is compared to the world? It got that way because we spend money defending many of those other nations [...]

I didn’t mind the racism and their “this is not world war II, these are not jews, this is not hitler in a super tank” take on things. It was everyone going super sayian towards the end that finally broke the deal for me. Trying to make you care for characters that were poorly developed [...]

Did they watch the same 30-Sai that I did?
Because there was hardly anything sexy in it.

The absence of kissXsis is also somewhat alarming.

A holocaust revisionist novel would receive more protection in some countries than a picture book with drawn images of SEX…

Now if that ain’t some fucked up priorities.
The problem with censorship is that those doing the censoring are often unelected, corrupt, or misguided to the point of being useless.

  • Fred commented on the blog post Top 10 Godliest Anime Episodes   11 months ago · View

I would have had to add Full metal panic #7 (close of the first arc) and probably the onsen trip or Ova to that list.

Code geass also needed the wedding raid on that list (forget which episode, second season).
Actually the whole show was pretty awesome, but episode 1 doesn’t really stand out.

Full metal panic and negima most definitely.

both series had tons off good stuff that the anime barely got around too. In FMP’s case the sigma arc is tying it off nicely.

Females judge other females by their accessories, as competition.
Males judge females by their health, as suitable mates.

The real test would be in seeing how females judge males or males judge other males.

  • Fred commented on the blog post JSDF Spherical Drone “We Bought Most of the Parts in Akiba”   11 months, 3 weeks ago · View

Its quite innovative thinking, for a drone.
The US has worked on similar things, but most of theirs don’t react well to bouncing on walls or obstacles. They’ve been using all kinds of fancy software to get around it when a simple roll cage would have sufficed.

    Sometimes good ideas are simple.

  • Fred commented on the blog post Nintendo Announces “Wii U”   11 months, 3 weeks ago · View

I don’t really get it. Its a controller that you look at, and sweep your fingers across the screen on, and shake or otherwise manipulate while trying to also pay attention to what’s happening on the TV. It just seems like too much interaction. Maybe it will make sense when I’ve got my hands on [...]
