They don’t need messages, just good concepts. A strong idea, whether it is to market the show as cute girls doing cute things or a rich story. How creators work with an idea and the expectations of the viewers can make or break it.

I think Madoka has a wider appeal than the other shows (not just men) and the fact that it took the story to the extreme gives it the right to be where it is.
