That’s your achievements rating… or something. I don’t know what that number represents actually.

What you need to do is hover over your portrait in the upper right where it says create party. A pop will tell you your “Character Code”

Battle.net is pretty weird as to how it levels people up or down. In Gold, I was playing low diamond rank players and high platinum all day. Had a 6 game losing streak and then I won one and now it boosted me up to Platinum o.O

SC2's ladders are so much easier and inflated compared to the Beta though: like a gold on SC2 now is like a Bronze in the beta.

It's actually pretty reliable if you look at the amount of points a player has.

For example: A 500 point Gold player is about the same as a 500 point Diamond player.

A 600 point Gold player is probably better than a 500 point Diamond player.

A 500 point Diamond player couldn’t shake a stick at a 900 point Diamond player.

You can also find yourself on sc2ranks that has some robust statistics as well as some global rankings.

In terms of casters, you guys should check out Psy (PsyStarcraft on youtube). He casts his own games and he’s actually really good. I’ve been following him since the beginning. Also, he’s playing in the HDH 2 for you HD and Husky fans.

Are you sure you wouldn’t rather have 1 GB of video ram and then an i7 with DDR3 ram?

I’m not sure if the price is the same, but I think 2GB ram is kinda overkill, especially for SC2.

For instance, 8GB ram in a desktop isn’t really much better than 4GB ram

Just so you know, if you want others to be able to find you, you must give them your identification code as well. I think if you hover over your portrait on the main menu, it will tell you. Should be a 3 digit number or something like that.

Those are circumstances not originally stated…. I mean if I had a magic anti-crowbar forcefield, I guess he would be the one screwed huh? :P

If I were holding a katana and trying to fight a guy holding a crowbar, I think I would “stab” rather than “slash”. Obviously you can’t stab with a crowbar.

Also a stab is a 1 hit kill while a slash to an extremity or even the chest may not (depending on depth of gash).

I think the best melee weapon is a spear though. There’s no way anyone with a sword will ever get in range.

It's probably more economic to buy a 400 dollar laptop for school, and then build a totally ripped gaming rig for like 1,500.

My gaming rig was 800 when it was built 2 years ago and still runs SC2 on all ultra settings at 60+ FPS. Think what 1500 today could do…

If you really want to play you can use a launcher and a custom AI to play offline against the computer (for example: SC all in one and Green Tea AI)

That tied me over from phase 1 to phase 2.

If there is enough interest then we could have regular monthly/seasonal tournaments, or even a ladder.

I’m actually trying to organize tournaments in all communities that I’m a part of (school, work, etc…)

I think tournament play is the only thing that truly exploits the competitive side of this game and brings out it’s full “fun” potential.

I’m an intern at a software company right now and I’m writing a blog this summer to give feedback to the company about their intern program.

Only a few ppl read it, but I already feel it is more purposeful than most blogs :P
